Went to Gotham Saturday evening. We go out at least once a week for dinner and was really looking forward to Gotham as I had heard quite positive things about them. I also felt terrible about the negative press coverage they recieved a few weeks ago as a result of the shooting outside. This had nothing to do with restaurant and was unfair that they continually were mentioned. When we arrived I was very pleasantly not only by the greeting which was prompt and friendly but also by the room when we were seated. I think it is beautiful and very rich feeling. They have definately taken the traditional "steak house" feel and gone Way beyond. Our server was good, at times seemed a bit distracted but still showed that he really knew what he was doing. I just wish they would relax a bit; the hands behind the back, stiff, good evening mam is a bit tired in my view. Had beef tenderloin - was cooked perfectly, and the sides, mushrooms, asparagus, garlic mash were all Very good. My steak itself was only ok - for tenderloin it wasn't that tender and the flavour was alright. The server never asked how everything was or I would have told him and perhaps had it fixed. However overall I would go back as I loved the place and with another server it could be the perfect spot.
