You need drink?
Submitted Sunday, May 17, 2009 - 2:08pm [Dine in]

I'm a regular at the lunch buffet here and always leave pleasantly full. I find the 'you need drink?' (irregardless of the server) question comforting.

Decor is plain but clean, it's not why I go there. Buffet always tasty, butter chicken is fantastic. Only small complaints are leaving bay leaves in the rice, and it sometimes takes a while to refill the samosas (while they have a bunch out front under a heat lamp for grab and go). Small salad bar that I can't comment on as I never partake.

Service is always good and friendly. A little slow offering the basket of Naan ... sometimes I'm on my second plate before I get it, but it's warm, fresh and fantastic. They used to have it on the buffet, I prefer it that way myself.

Great value, I'll keep going back.

My boyfriend and I had dinner on the deck overlooking the golf course a recent Friday. If you can find a nicer view or more romantic setting in the Ridge Meadows Area, please email me and tell me where!!! We just heard you don't need to be a member to eat here, we had no idea.

I agree with a previous review, the building looks like a school (and not a pretty one), but if you can get by the look from the outside, you'll be glad you did. Parking was free, but a bit of a walk, they had a wedding going on so we had to trek from the far end of the lot ... oh well.

Had a great bottle of La Frenz Chardonnay from BC while we nibbled on bc scallops and fantastic homemade crab cakes. Entrees for us on this night were Ocean Wise (nice!) sable fish and steak with prawns. Both were excellent.

Complimentary appetizer (a real nice touch) was a great little prawn on a white spoon, first time we've ever experienced this out in this area.

We told our waitress right off the hop we were in no hurry, and the service was perfect for the occasion.

Prices were shockingly good for the quality, this is Vancouver quality food for much less than you'd spend in Vancouver. Our Sablefish was about $20, compared to about $35 when we had it at Blue Water in Yaletown, and it was better here.

Worth a repeat visit or 3.

How long was I asleep?

We truly felt like we stepped back in time when we visited this restaurant in Maple Ridge. We were celebrating the 80th birthday of my Grandmom who has been here many times over the years.

For our large table, we certainly had no complaints about the service, the young man who took care of us was great. A few small issues, but nothing worth causing a fuss about.

The food was unremarkable. I don't think they have added a new menu item since 1976. Food on a plate. Some items adequate, some not. Cutting edge it is not. Snyone in our party over 65 thought everything was good, anyone 40 or under thought everything was lousy, anyone in between, thought ... you get the idea.

Value was good for the portion sizes.

I'd never go back, I'm sure Grandmom will.
