Pin Pin Restaurant
Submitted Monday, July 17, 2006 - 3:32pm [Dine in]

Pin Pin restaurant's is located just a round the corner of a Dollar Store. With ample parking space behind the building my sister didnt have a hardtime trying to find one. Another good free parking is located on the other end for a local grocery store.

Infront of Pin Pin's a bus stop that connects bus riders from end to end of Fraser St. The main entrance is flocked by hungry patrons like me and my sisters. As we waited for our turn, we couldnt help but noticed the pictures hanging on the walls of the resto. From a street ice cream vendor, a "palengke" picture, "kalesa" and a lot of Filipino traditions nice caught in camera. My sisters and i nooded in agreement that it is a brilliant idea to do that.

Unlike other Filipino restaurant here in Vancouver, Pin Pin's food wasnt displayed in a "turo turo" style eatery. It is all in the written down in the menu with all those sumptous pictures ready for some hungry eyes to feast. Except for halo halo and other desserts which were neatly placed in a glass fridge.

The waitresses are wearing red Pin Pin shirt and jeans. They are helpful and used tagalog in welcoming us. The tables and chairs are made of wood. As we were seated we were given white plates with spoon, fork and the white napkin. Next came the glasses water. The rice is placed inside a red bucket for $5.00 which was more than enough for the three of us.
In Pin pin meat (which is supposedly "the secret ingredients") is cut just like the size of the tokwa. And the sauce doesnt help the taste either. We also had Bicol Express ( for those who love spicy food) and Ensaladang talong which is taste so heavenly and the presentation was an 8 thats coming from sister whos very hard to please.
Overall Pin pin Restaurant is a break from the usual Vancouver Filipino restaurants. Go ahead sit down and enjoy these new Filipino Chinese restaurant!
