Identity Crisis
Submitted Wednesday, January 15, 2014 - 8:23pm [Dine in]

These guys just don't get it. You can never have a consistently good experience at this place. While the employees will do their absolute best to make you happy, during the day time there is only one employee running the entire restaurant. They take your order and make your food and shisha, I find this unhygienic and unfair for whoevers working.. anyways their business.

Their shisha while herbal is still great that is if you get the right shisha equipment. Sometimes their smoke is surreal and sometimes its barley there. They bring a new hookah if it doesn't get enough smoke but that takes awhile especially if only one employee is working. Also with the shisha a common problem is the air vents, which suck up the smoke right as it exits your mouth.

Music at this shisha bar and desert place is repetitive, the same songs play over and over again. This is noted from several visits. Ive gone to most of the shisha/hookah bars in the GTA (Habbibs, Alexandrias, Cleopattra, etc.) and the music creates a nice vibe; they have rap, hip-hop, mainstream, arab.. basically a nice mix of everything. These guys on the other hand have the absolute worst choice in English music and it seriously feels like an identity crisis is taking place when I walk in on a Friday night and hear stuff that my 8 year old niece listens to.

The one thing I love about this place is there deserts and fried snacks which come fairly quickly if more than one person is working. But again there is a downside if you are taking out because there is no packaging for the the funnel cake, it is just a plate with aluminum foil on top. It's a disaster after a 5 minute drive because the ice cream is melted and the funnel cake is just a soggy mess.

I am never so critical of restaurants but I really don't like what I see and I know they can do so much better. This place is 5 minutes from my house and this is why I have made so many visits. But honestly for an authentic shisha experience with great music and vibe I would rather drive an extra 15 minutes and go to Alexandria or Dreams. At least there I know I will have a uniform experience.

Whoever comes in during the day make sure to tip the poor employee whose working the kitchen, cash register, and waiting tables. Thanks for the awesome service Raj and Ram (Sorry dont remember the names of the other employees but you guys were also great!)
