Food tasted like Chinese style cafe food. A cheap one too.

Our pastas came 15 minutes apart from each other. Felt like we were taking turns watching each other eat. The garlic bread came cold somewhere in between our 2nd-3rd pasta.

Service was not as described. The "maids" did not smile, greet us or thank us. Overall it was just awkward.

Place wasn't nice at all. Weird greens and fences and Christmas lights.

Value was.. Well given my comments above it just wasn't good.

Relatively new still, this place serves great pasta dishes that are supposedly "asianized".

IMO most of the simpler dishes taste pretty authentic Italian. The asianized twist comes in other special dishes that feature eel/lobster/taiwanese sausage, etc.

The food suits my taste very well. The carbonara and white/red sauces are delicious. The garlic oil based sauce was too garlic-y. They also serve pizza/mains at very reasonable prices. Haven't yet tried them. They have a feature soup every day which is also very well made. Tastes like it was not mass produced, like in many restaurants (of the same level).

Service is excellent. A lot of times you get free soup, drinks, and dessert for free. Waitresses are polite and attentive.

Value is where this place really shines. The average pasta dish is $8.50. For lunch, you get a soup and drink for free. Your whole meal including tax is LESS than $10. I went to the Tim Hortons drive-thru the other day, and a meal cost me $10. What a joke. I say a dinner at night including appys, mains, drinks may cost you $30 a person. Comparable to places 2-3 times the price easily.

Ambiance is nice. Candlelit at night with dim lights. Nice soft jazzy music.

All in all, it's an awesome place and you've gotta try it!

New ownership(?) = Terrible, terrible food.

This place used to be my favourite pasta place in Vancouver. The pasta dishes seemed delicate and tasted delicious. Now they serve overcooked, thick, soft spaghetti with what tastes EXACTLY like premade canned tomato sauce from supermarkets. My seafood dish had a terrible smell mixed in to the pasta (shells, etc).

It was just cooked seafood mixed into heated pre-made sauce, in soggy soft pasta. Gross.

The service is notably worse. Waitresses used to be in a shirt/apron, but now it's a young guy in street clothes. Very casual. Not to mention, purposely charging more to change the sauce from seafood to tomato.

Me: And can I get that in a tomato sauce instead?
Guy: Sure!
Guy: Actually.. hold on. (to "chef" [just a kid, really]) Can you do it in a tomato sauce? (walks to him) That's gonna cost more right?
Kid: *shrugs*
Guy: Yeah it's gonna cost you $2 more.

I don't mind paying an extra $2 at all, but the way it was handled was just awful. It put off a very cheap vibe. Oh, and I really don't think that any casual pasta places ($10-20) charges extra for a different sauce anyway.

I've given this restaurant two tries since, thinking it was an off day, but boy this place sucks now. You've been warned: do NOT go. If you're in the area and really crave pasta, there's an Italian place very close by with pasta dishes of higher quality, excellent service, at the same price.
