So bad

Walked in on Sunday 7:00 pm. You would think the patrons had never seen Chinese customers before. Everyone was looking at us. Only tried this place because of the DineHere ratings and I was within walking distance from the casino. I can only surmise all the good reviews were from Langley residents who are not oriental. Everything about the place was wrong. Caucasian waitress in a Chinese restaurant just doesn't seem right. Don't the owners have kids? Ah! the food, Smallest dishes I have seen yet. Plus the main part of each dish was miniscule. E.g. scallops and pea pods besides being small there was only about 6 scallops. Lettuce wrap was very sparse on protein and large on filler plus we had to ask for more lettuce. Our other 2 dishes were equally disappointing. When we sat down and got served with forks we should have got up and walked down to the Flourishing. Restroom was really old looking but clean. If you ever see an oriental in here it won't be me.

Was referred to this restuarant by a friend, and it was wonderful! Quiet little restaurant, good service and the food was excellent. I recommend the prawns with the hot pepper salt. (It's not actually salt, it this really spicy concoction.) Will definitely go back!

Best Birthday Dinner

We have lived in Langley for 7 months now. Finally found a really good Chinese Restaurant in Wong`s. Bright surroundings and excellent service. The Chinese beer is great with the fantastic tasting food. Food was served piping hot. It was my 68 th birthday so you can see I have eaten a lot of Chinese food in my time. At last no more searching for a quality restaurant. Thank to Wong`s a great birthday present.

Dissapointed with the price

I ordered food for two (sweet and sour pork, rice, ginger beef, and beef chop suey) and it was almost $40 for take out. I guess I was just hoping for more leftovers. The portion sizes were pretty small for the price you pay. The food was okay, nothing special. Delivery took a long time. Nothing special.

There's no place like Wong's

My family has been eating here for years, I introduced my extended family, and the guys at work to Wong's and they've been eating there ever since. Unfortunatly, I have tried other chinese food in Langley and all I can say is there's no place like Wong's. The service is great and they are all very friendly, and although I'm not a very adventurist eater the food is excellent. The portions are a pretty good size (even bigger if you eat in).

There's a reason they have been around for so long, try them for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Fool me thrice, shame on me.

Recommended by friends, I've since taken them to a restaurant offering a much better grade of Chinese food than Wong's. They've switched.

First, I hope not to encounter a snarky order-taker when patronising a restaurant. True, this happened only once out of three experiences, but sometimes, once is enough. This last experience left me also with pork that, though chewed for flavour, could not be easily swallowed. At least half the dish went to the garbage. One dish on my second try was only half full. There's no value for the customer in these examples.

In general, the food relies on fat, sugar, and salt for flavour. As a chef myself, I rely on good ingredients for flavour. Their fried rice--a personal favourite in general-- is a good example of this "easy-way-out" approach to cooking that seems to be the Wong's way for the most part.

On the bright side, their delivery service has been prompt and courteous over three tries, but that's a given I take for granted. I enjoy passing on a compliment on a restaurant, but Wong's Chinese Food in Langley has made this difficult. Wong's would be wise to improve both food and service quality. This would show the respect to their clientele customers appreciate.
