Went here on New Years Eve of 2017. To summarize our experience:
1) Montana's had run out of chicken, so my wife could not have the dish she would have liked.
2) We waited an hour for our main course to arrive, no apologies from staff
3) My 10 oz steak was more like a 5oz steak (yes I know 25% or so of the weight may be lost during cooking). When I asked to speak with the manager regarding this, I was waiting for 20mins before I asked again to speak with the manager (food getting cold during the wait). I was told that the manager was too busy to see me (perhaps there was no manager on site that evening?) I did get a new steak cooked though which I got to go. By the way the waitress also forgot to ask how I liked my steak cooked.
4) The waitress had to be reminded of the cookies which went with our kids meal
5) We had some food to take home. Instead of the waitress taking the food away to put into carry out containers, she left the empty containers on our table to pack up ourselves.
6) On paying, I still left a 2% tip (more than generous considering the experience), the waitress literally dropped the receipt onto the table, said nothing and walked off!

It was alright.

Went there tonight with the kids after watching a movie at the theatre next door. The service was alright, nothing less of what I would expect from a restaurant.
The kids ordered chicken tenders with fries to share, and I ordered a pork side ribs with shrimp combo. The chicken tenders were a little too crunchy for my liking, but the kids didn't complain too much. My pork side ribs definitely lacked sauce and the sides were burn. They didn't take out the tough membranes on the underside of the ribs, so the parts that actually had the most sauce on it I had to throw out because it was just too tough to chew. The shrimp skewers were a little cold, so were the side veggies and corn. The carrots were definitely undercooked, as I felt like a rabbit trying to munch my way through the crunchy discs of carrots.
Nothing special, it was just a convenient place for dinner after a movie.

Great place for families!

I took my family out to Montana's on a Tuesday night only to be pleasantly surprised to find out that kids eat free on tuesdays (one free kids meal per adult entree purchased)! My husband got the ribs which were delicious and came a baked potato and veggies. He was full halfway through but couldnt stop eating because it was just so good! I ordered the mediterranean goat cheese chicken which was also delicious, a new favorite for sure. Our girls enjoyed their kids meal and kids dessert, but most of all they enjoyed the magician that montana's has on tuesdays. Overall it was a wonderful dining experience and we'll for sure be coming back for more fun family nights!

As a person who regularly goes out to eat and acctually works in the resturant bussiness, I was greatly surprised when I found Montanas Walnut Grove. Arriving at the resturant I was quickly sat on the bar side while the canucks game was on. The amabiance in the room was ravishihng. There were canucks jerseys and flags hanging and really added to the mood. To start I ordered the beef sliders. This is a relativly new item and it was recomended by the bartender. This was a great dish. Pulled beef on mini ciabata buns, with cheese and onion straws. It was a great and filling appetizer. For my main course, I had the mushroom chicken. This was very good. Two fresh grilled chicken breasts a creamy, spicy mushroom sauce. I chose mashed potatos for my side and steamed vegatables. I was very happy with the speed of service and the dilegence of my waiter. I would highly recomend Montanas Walnut Grove for any occasion.

Wary of negative reviews

My buddy invited my spouse and I for all-you-can-eat-ribs at Montanas and on the morning of our dinner date, I recited some of the last-than-positive reviews about this place. He advised that the place had never let him down and he was right in spades. He and I had the ribs and even on the initial serving I was unbelievable stuffed. The only reason I had seconds and thirds that were served in a timely manner is that the ribs were so damn good and I literally could not stop eating them. In fact I loved them so much as well as the service that picked up the tab.

Was it cheap??????

Absolutely not... our spouses had more modest entrees that were equally enjoyed though not with the same gusto. No room for desserts and no drinks were consumed except for two coffees. With tip the bill came to $95 but it was worth it....

I love good ribs and have experienced many a good plate of same..... but these were second to none I have ever had.

I Love their pork ribs. Sorry I have not tried the beef ones but they looked real good from a distance:) Yes they are a little pricey but so are good spareribs by the pound. Believe me you will not be saying where's meat. It is so Delicious. I don't know how other people can eat a dessert after eat one one these rib meals... Oh one thing they asked me what I wanted with the meal and one of the choices were beans. I was thinking green beans so I ordered the beans. Well they turned out to be chili beans :) and not very good ones at that. Live and Learn. Most definitely the best place for ribs!! mm.... mm.... Just talking about it... I think we'll go there for dinner tonight :)

Always out of items

In the last three visits I've been here they have been out of one thing or another.

Visit 1
Staff: Sorry we are out of yorkshire puddings for the roast dinner
Me: Ok I will have the chicken dinner instead
Staff: We are out of chicken
Finally I ordered a meatloaf only to have the order screwed up

Visit 2
Staff: Sorry were out of Antojitos
Me: I will have a chicken dinner with a baked potato
Staff: Sorry we are out of baked potato
Me: I will have it with french fries
The order arrives with cold mashed potatoes instead

Visit 3
Staff: Sorry were out of Antojitos
Me: Ok then how about you remove the enticing advertisement for this item from the table top
I will have the chicken dinner, what no baked potato again?
Staff: not your lucky day I guess?
Me: Im not here to gamble Im here for dinner
Manager: Completely disinterested but hey I get another Sorry.

Visit 4:

I don't know who is dong the food ordering at this place but they should be fired. This is a typical chain that spends more time apologizing for poor food and even worse service than concentrating on just doing it right.
Simply comping a customers food because of poor food quality or mistakes is just bad for business.

Not impressed

Our family went to Montana's for lunch today. The service was fine. Not good, not bad. The food was awful. My husband's nachos were served on top of a piece of paper on his plate. Perhaps that makes for easier dish washing, but doesn't anyone who works there realize that cheese sticks to paper? Our daughters both ordered from the kids menu...one of the side orders is cucumers. Montana's was out of cucumbers and ended up splitting their last remaining side order between both girls. Who runs out of cucumbers? One of the girls ordered cheese pizza and loved it. The other ordered the kids burger. It was burnt and really dry. They served it without any sauces and we had to specifically request ketchup. I had the sweet potato fries. They were overcooked (not quite burnt) and there wasn't enough sauce for all of them. The lettuce in my side salad was wilted and the grape tomatoes were a day or two past their "best before" date. There wasn't enough dressing for the salad either. Overall, we were not impressed and won't be returning for a second chance.
