Wow, What a dissapointment

So I usually swing by this Donair location because it's so close to where I live. For a year now I have gone to plateau Donair and up until recently have run into no real problems. Their proportions were usually pretty consistant and their service was average but acceptable nonetheless. However, recently they have been stingy on how much they give you and I have seen a steady decrease with the proportions. They have hired new staff that seem to have little to no training (from what I have seen) and seem to not pay attention to their own prices or quality. Today for example, I went into plateau Donair and ordered their super chicken with a side of fries. Now the super chicken itself costs 7.99 (a bit overpriced to begin with) and fries are 2.99. Somehow, this ended up costing 15.66. I looked at the girl working there with a "are you serious?" face and looked at the menu again to see that this was obviously not right. She stared at me not skipping a beat and I reluctantly paid to avoid any argument and just assumed she was right in the heat of the moment. I left with my donair and did the math in my head:it didn't add up. When I opened my donair the shell was horribly stale and there was little meat and veggies inside of it. The fries were passible but nothing special either. Needless to say I'm not giving these people my business anymore; there's tons of donair places in town and I would be happy to drive further for their service and PROPER pricing,

Something more than other donair places!

The guys who own this place are the nicest ever. The Donairs taste great and the prices aren't jacked up like most places on the Plateau. The reason they switched from Fish and Chips wasn't the quality, but because demand for Donairs is higher, an intelligent business move. Also, I would say the ambiance of this place is very nice; although small, there are some comfy seats where you could sit and have a decent meal, and the place is somewhat decorated, rather than the spartan interior of most Donair stops. There is tasteful selection of beers and wines. Show me another Donair place around here that offers that! Be careful at what time you go in, however. There are rush periods (mostly around lunch time it seems) where many people que up for food, but otherwise it's generally quite quiet. I've never been disappointed here, and will always pop in whether to grab a quick bite on-the-go or to have a pleasant sit down donair and a cold beer with a friend.

Food was good, got the chicken donair, tasty and filling. It's a small place so there's no sitting room, which is fine, not really there for the ambience or setting. Just a quick bite. Better than most Donair places, definitely recommend it.
It was really quiet when I went, which is a shame. But it's expected since it's not really in the center of coquitlam, would probably do better if it was closer to a high school.

this place is great..i was very hesitant about giving it another try but it was the best chicken donair that i have ever eaten...the mom made it and she was so very nice and the portion was very generous...it was not busy but it should be as it is a family run business and they are trying very hard to succeed and only want to satisfy their customers and are doing a good job

Plateau Donair

$7.13 for a King Beef

The Pita
The pita was tough. At the beginning the pita tasted fine, about half way through the pita started getting hard. I did not like that at all.

The Meat
Plateau Donair has some of the better meat I’ve tasted. It is not over seasoned and it actually tastes like real beef. I could eat their meat for hours (no homo).

The Veggies
The veggies were fresh. You know when you get that lettuce that is white and bitter tasting? Plateau Donair ain’t got none of that s#!t. I like their veggies.

The Sauces
Their sauces are typical, nothing special to say about them. Although, I would like mine more evenly dispersed though-out. I hate it when one bite is all hot sauce and the next is all garlic sauce. EVENLY DISPERSE THAT S#!T.

The Restaurant / Atmosphere
The restaurant is fairly new(I think its 3 months old. It is small in size and has a beautiful interior. The staff is friendly but very slow at times.

Overall Rating 7/10
For the price I would expect it to be bigger in size and have more meat. Their King Beef is smaller than Donair Affair's Super Beef and it cost almost $2 more!! Since they have good service and it is a nice restaurant I do not mind the higher price. But because the portion is small I give them a 7/10.
