Describing individual dishes are point-less, because they are typical dishes you find in other hundreds of sushi places.

Their tempura dishes and some hot items need some improvement. However, sushi and sashimi are of good quality.

When you consider value, presentation, service, quaility and quantity of food. This restaurant is the best, not just in Burnaby, but also in Greater Vancouver. Just try their $20 deluxe sashimi platter, you will understand what I mean.

It is hard to find a good Japanese Restaurant in Burnaby, always have to go to Downtown or Richmond for some good Japanese food with great service. Finally, there is Sushi S.

It is located right across Willingdon Church and BCIT, not a bad location. I have passed by Sushi S numerous times, it doesn't look very attractive from the outside, so I thought it is just another typical sushi joint. Until I saw the rating on Urbanspoon, it has 100% likes, then I knew I have to try it out.

Food: Very fresh sashimi, sushi. Green Salad with popcorn (deep fried scallops) was wonderful, the salad dressing was good and the popcorn on the green was a great combination. The Volcano Roll was awesome: nice presentation, it was lightly deep fried, so it had a little crunch, yet the cream cheese inside gave it a creamy texture along with the real crab, avocado etc. a good portion of spicy tuna mounted on top of the "volcano", very yummy.
The Ika karaage disappointed me a little bit. It looked really good but the batter was not crunchy and tasted bland without the thai sweet chili sauce.
Miso soup was okay. Some AYCE restaurants make better miso soup.
hope they will improve on their kitchen food. But the sushi was terrific, and that is the most important thing in a Japanese restaurant.

Service: Superb! Servers were really friendly, always smiled. Prompt service, went the extra mile to make customers happy!!! My sisters and I were really impressed.

Value: Reasonable prices with great food and service. a 5!!!

Ambiance: really bright and spacious inside, a really comfortable setting.

Overall: VERY impressive. Especially the service and the sushi, maybe it is because they are still a new restaurant? I dont know. I really hope they can keep up the good work even when they get busier later. I will definitely go back soon, and recommend Sushi S to all my friends.
