After adventures in Lunch and every place we drove to was closed, we ended up at Bubi's Awesome Eats.....I ordered the Popeye Pita Melt, but they brought me a burger so I sent it back....then they brought me another burger and I told the waitress that I didn't order a burger, I ordered a wrap....well, apparently there is a burger also called the Popeye so our waitress thought that's what I wanted. She did offer to get me something else, but everyone else was already eating so I kept this burger.......anyway, I ate it and it did taste good but it was really weird. The burger was served w/ grilled peppers and onions sitting on top of 4 pcs of pita. Not sure how you are supposed to eat it, so I left the pita. Came with a side salad. Our waitress (cute girl) took the burger off the bill (thank you). It was buy one get one for $2 anyway...Dan had a burger also (no bun) and he wasn't crazy about his, thought it was dry. New Girl had a chicken wrap w/ fries and said it was very good. We also tried the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cheesecake....meh, it was okay.
I ordered the Roasted Club - Home roasted whole turkey breast topped with crispy maple glazed bacon, lettuce, tomato & spicy mayo on a freshly made (in house daily) bun....it was FABULOUS!! Served with a 'summer salad' w/ mixed greens, strawberries, blueberries, goat cheese, walnuts and a raspberry vinaigrette. Dan had the Maple Bacon Cheddar Burger (also on a homemade bun) and said its probably the best burger he's had all year (his fave was Kildare House, until today...)....and New Girl had the Tuscan Shrimp Wrap - Shrimp & Tuscan Beans w/ spicy mayo and lettuce on an herbed wrap (served cold)....everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. That was my first time, and the view is gorgeous, the place is beautiful. Service was a little slow, but that's probably because we were on retired guys turf.......I can't wait to go back!!
Thin Crust, Wood Fired Pizza w/ carmelized almonds, gorgonzola, spinach, chicken & carmelized pears! OMG, it was delicious!! My husband 'created' his own with pepperoni, prosciutto & mozzarella....he really enjoyed his as well. Great vibe in there too. Lunch and dinner menu is the same, so its a bit pricey for lunch (although you could share an 8 slice pizza for $ 15 or less), and very reasonable for dinner. We had a Groupon so the point is moot! ;)
Every year our boss takes us out for an "after tax-season dinner", so La Zingara was the place this year! Really nice inside (and we love the doors that open to the soon to be patio). I like to order different things, so I got the Potato Encrusted Sea Bass served with green beans. My meal was very good. 5 out of 6 of us enjoyed our meals. Great service, nice place. I'd go back.
On Mother's Day my daughter and I used our "Groupon" and had dinner at Chanoso's. There were some options, but I told her that the appetizer had to be avocado egg rolls no matter what. She was worried when she read the ingredients list, but let me tell you - she LOVED them and she can't wait to go back for some more. For the entree I had the chef salad which was good and she had a stir fry and she said she liked it. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Monkey Crepes and the Chocolate Peanut Torte. She loved both, but I prefer apple desserts! Anyway, I've been dreaming about the egg rolls. I need another fix! Amazing!! Service was a bit slow, but otherwise I like the feel of the place.
Dave and I ordered the Fish & Chips dinner which included a nice piece of Halibut with light batter, fresh cut fries, coleslaw and homemade tartar. Everything was really good and the prices are excellent (especially since I understand Halibut is really pricey). Its not the cleanest place I've ever been, but I guess with deep fryers you get some grease. Looking forward to going back - good prices for breakfast and lunch and I hear Aldea makes great coconut cream pie.
Date Night (with a Groupon)......for an appetizer we ordered the Beef Tips; they were good. My Entree was Chicken Florentine w/ rice & veggies. My plate was hotter than my meal, and I ordered roasted potatoes but got rice (didn't complain). Sadly, I wasn't crazy about it any of it. Hubby had the Soup (beef w/ rice) and it was really good (I tried it), and he had the Chevaps w/ roasted potatoes & vegetables. Chevaps are ground beef/veal/pork formed into sausage shaped meat....they were excellent, very lean & tasty. The place is gorgeous, prices are reasonable, I love the atmosphere and the waitress was excellent and super cute. I'll definitely go back, and I think I'll order the Chevaps! ;)
The Special of the Day was a Chicken/Goat Cheese/Roasted Red Pepper Panini...OMG!! Amazing sandwich and the bread was "Killer" to quote my boss. I also bought some Whole Wheat & Chocolate cookies to share and my boss said the cookie was in the "top 5 cookies" he's ever had! They were very good....soft & chewy, with a little crunch too......Specials change daily, lots of premade salads/soups/entrees in the fridge too! Lots of preserves, coffee, organic sauces & noodles & grains too. Everything looks great and Julie (the owner) is the cutest little thing I've ever seen! Good prices, fresh food, homemade breads/muffins/cookies.....you should definitely go!! Seriously.....
Something new....Vietnamese food! I'm always up for something new! I ordered M8 from the Noodle Menu thinking I was getting pork & veggies on noodles....they brought me a bowl of Wonton Soup w/ veggies & pork!! Okay, I'll eat it, as it was the right item on the menu....it smelled delicious, it tasted delicious! Really great flavour.....and lots of stuff in it so I was full by the time I was finished. I'm usually not big on Wonton Soup, but this was different from anything I'd ever had before. My boss ordered M7, the Beef w/ veggies on Egg Noodles and he said it was incredible! Fast service, good prices, large quantities. We'll definitely go back!
I play darts next door, and our bar doesn't serve food....my friends were ordering food so I did too. I didn't have a menu in front of me so I ordered a club house with fries (same as last time). Last time (on a Friday night) it was small and the fries were cold. This time (on a Sunday afternoon) the sandwich was really big and delicious and the fries were hot! Same order, different experience. Very good this time....
Our first time and we loved it!! Bought the Groupon, which I love because it forces us to go out and try new things! I had the Honey Almond Chicken salad w/ baby greens, green apple, cucumber, tomato, red onion and a honey dressing....it was really good. The daughter had the halibut w/ fries. My husband had the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I thought the halibut dinner was quite small for the price, but apparently halibut is crazy expensive. My husband works midnights and doesn't want a huge meal for 'breakfast' so he thought his meal was just the right size. The place is hoppin' and I guess it does great business in the spring / summer when the boats pull in. I really like this place....can't wait to go back!
So, last time I was surprised to find out that no one had heard of this place, it was good and cheap.....second try not so great!! I ordered a Chicken Shawarma to go and the quality of the chicken was not great, AND I pulled an unknown object out of my mouth.....that's the last time I go here! Ewww....
Its been years since I've been here, I was never really a fan, however I had gift cards and we wanted something different. I had the Tuscan Turkey Club (which I have had before and enjoyed)....it was excellent! My daughter had the ribs and she liked them, but I thought the sauce was really weird. My son had the Hell's Kitchen Chicken. He said he liked it, but he didn't finish his meal and that's not like him. I ordered my side salad to go. I ordered Veal Parmesan for my husband to go as well....we went home with 2 huge bags of food.. My husband said there was hardly any pasta in his dish though. Also, I was surprised at how pricey everything was (except my sandwich)...I spent a lot more than I expected. I'd go back though.
My boss took all of us out for breakfast on Good Friday (we work in a tax office so we don't have time for holidays!) and we were lined up outside the door when the place opened! I ordered the chef's special omelette which had roasted garlic and fresh mushroom; served with home fries, multigrain toast and homemade strawberry jam. It was excellent. All the others ordered the French Toast and everyone said it was excellent. Its a little pricey, but they are doing good business (just celebrated 1 year open). I'll definitely go back!
I now remember why I don't order this sandwich! I haven't had one in years but as I'm trying to eat healthier, I thought I'd try it again. The quality of the chicken was horrible, really stringy and it didn't taste good at all. I couldn't even finish...My boss shared some fries with me and they were awful too....service was kinda slow, but I don't really mind that as they make everything fresh. One thing I really appreciate is that employees wear gloves when they touch my food! I'll go back, but I'm skipping that sandwich!!
I ordered the Egg Salad on ancient grains bread, toasted with homemade potato chips and I think it was the best egg salad I've ever had! I think the key is that Deb minces her onion so there's great flavour throughout. My boss ordered the Club House with Real Turkey and the sandwich was enormous! Great food, cute place, ridiculously cheap prices!.....and Deb even puts a dish of water and dog treats outside for the dogs! How cute is that!?
The Roasted Turkey & Swiss Market Fresh Sandwich was really good. Served on very fresh multigrain bread.....lots of fresh ingredients, plenty of food for lunch. The price is pretty good too, at $ 6.20 including tax. The very next day I was back and ordered my standard Regular Roast Beef, which I also love!
I ordered the Greek Omelette. It was stuffed with an "abundance" of veggies & feta and it was absolutely delicious!! Served with home fries & whole wheat toast. The daughter ordered a Club House w/ real turkey on whole wheat, toasted, no tomatoes. Served with fries & coleslaw. She really enjoyed her lunch as well! Good prices, fast service, and jam packed! That place is rockin!
I ordered the Greek Salad in a Pita. It was excellent!! The best I've ever had (yep) with excellent traditional dressing. The pita was grilled to perfection. A little messy to eat, but wow.....delicious!! Its busy in there so people know about it! Tecumseh Road West across from Bargain Shop!
Hilarious how McDonalds now goes by McCafé, but whatever....I thought I`d try the McBistro Grilled Chicken BLT. I specifically asked if the chicken was real chicken and I was assured that it was. I got it grilled instead of fried as I`m watching my waistline. I have to say that the chicken was really bland, however the bacon was good, as was the bun. As I recall, the sandwich was pricey, with the combo being over $ 10, but I could be wrong because my bill came to $ 8.69 with a large pop and there were fries in the bag (which I didn`t ask for), so not sure if I just got a bonus medium fry, or if that was the combo price!? And what was I supposed to do, throw out perfectly delicious fries? I don't think so.....anyway, the sandwich was just okay, and I won't be ordering it again. P.S....Value is rated as outstanding IF the price includes fries....either way I got a lot of food for the price, so I guess I (and maybe only me) got good value!
