Cheese Wheelz @ Lauzon (519-980-8278)
- Pizza was cooked thoroughly and not burned
- Toppings are fresh, and they are very generous when it comes to the amount of toppings
- The amount of sauce used was pretty descent, more on the runny side
- Waiting time was very short, approx.15 minutes from call to pickup
- Inside the store was clean and swept.
- The sauce could use a little more kick, in the areas of spices
- The their x-large pizzas are the same size as a large just cut into smaller slices
- The customer service lacked a friendly feel, the cook/cashier seemed agitated and upset, but they still served me professionally.
- They hack specials with their food, i.e. get a FREE pop with the purchase of a large pizza.
** All in all this pizza joint is a great place to get great pizza at a reasonable price. You're family will get full of this pizza, and man o' man is it ever good. The service is ALWAYS professional. PLEASE TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT, AS WITH ALL RESTAURANTS PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES, THEY WILL CORRECT IT. ARROGANCE GETS YOU NOWHERE! CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS FIRST BUT THAT DON'T GIVE YOU A REASON TO PUT ANYONE DOWN, THEY ARE HUMAN JUST LIKE YOU!!!!
5 courses of great food & beer. Here are the highlights! The Braised Lamb Shank Stuffed Sushi Rice Globes were amazing! The wild berry salad was definitely the prettiest salad I've ever been served. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the potatoes stuffed with goat cheese were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside! Peach & chocolate dessert, devine!!
I ordered the Pulled Pork Po Boy Sandwich w/ Fresh Cut Fries. It was really, really good....sweet sauce on a perfectly toasted bun. Not a lot of meat in the sandwich, but just enough for me! The fries were perfect. Hubby had the Rock & Rolla Burger, a fresh, hand packed 8oz burger topped with bbq pulled pork, homemade black bean chili, roasted red peppers, sautéed onions, melted jalapeno Havarti, drizzled with whiskey bbq sauce. Fabulous!! And the place was really busy, so people know how good it is! ;) Can't wait to go back!
Of course I ordered the Perogies w/ potato & cheese....they were very nice, fried to perfection with nice grilled onions.....I loved them! New Girl had the same. The Boss had the Borscht soup (which he's been dreaming about for 25 years since his last visit) and the Stuffed Red Peppers. He liked the peppers, but not enough to order them again. I'd go back, but next time I might bring my broom & dust pan....
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich w/ Fresh Cut Fries......it was delicious!! Really nice quality chicken breast, lightly dusted with a southwest sauce. Just enough fresh cut fries (not a ton like other places). I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch!! Hubby had the Chili Dogs with Fresh Cut Fries and thought they could have used a few more onions, but good. Couple of Coors light. I like it there, and did you know they opened in 1878!?
I had The Ambassador - Smoked Salmon panini w/ capers, dill and cream cheese! WOW!!! ♥♥♥ Loved it!! Grilled to perfection! Served with a mixed green salad with a really nice dressing. The Boss had the Beefy (Roast beef w/ provolone and other stuff and a great horsey mayo). New Girl highly recommends The Windsor (Grilled chicken panini)....we all loved our meals, we all loved the ambiance, the prices, the service....can't wait to go back!! Seriously delicious! ;)
We had an absolutely amazing dinner- My boyfriend refuses to eat anything but pizza and burgers and after I forced him to come to Monaco, he begs me to go back all the time. Best restaurant we have experienced in a very long time, also the bellydancers was a nice touch really enjoyed the show. Thanks!!!!
For some reason I'm surprised there is a review of the bakery/restaurant on here.
I usually dine there often when I can. The customer service I find great. The young girl that works there is always asking if we needed anything and and very patient since I take forever to order! I'm not a huge fan of burgers, but the last time I went there I ordered a burger combo and surprisingly it was good! which says a lot for me. A picky eater here. But I guess my luck there has been great. The falafal and fatoush are my favourite though. The sauce in the fatoush is great, and they aren't cheap with the veggies! lol. ANyways this place is worth the try, and its cheap! :)
BTW the cheese pies are awesome! and I've got all my employees to back me up on that :P if you want to order something for a small event or gathering the lebenese pies are the way to go. I usually order the small cheese and sausage, and the cheese and olives. The people freak out over them lol. Oh lets not forget the spanish pies! I need to learn how to make these at home.. otherwise I am spending wayyy to much over them lol. Anyways thats all before I continue babbling on.; :)
Wow!! My friends at Taster.ca recommended this restaurant to me. I noticed there was a Groupon, so I purchased it (before I read it all, and it said Pupusa was not included in the Groupon....nuts!!)....Well, The Boss and I decided to go anyway.....we walk in and there is my sister and her co-workers....apparently she's told me about this place (I don't remember), and she goes about once per week!! She recommends the Pupusa (of course!). I order the Tacos with pork. The boss orders the Enchiladas with beef. We order a Pupusa to share (and we'll pay for it!).....OMG, delicious!! So soft and yummy! Its served with coleslaw and a tomato sauce. Delish!! My tacos were good, the rice was good once I put salsa on it. I think refried beans are meant to be in taco dip. The Boss loved his enchiladas "Nailed it!"......we can't wait to go back!
The parking lot is always full, that's always a good sign. I have to say I don't normally think of going to Windsor's Penalty Box because I know its going to be super busy and I don't like crowds. My BFF from high school recommended we go and as it was a Wednesday, I thought it would likely be dead....ha ha!! I got the last spot in the parking lot! We didn't have to wait for a table, but we did have to wait for the waitress to clean it off! We both ordered the Chicken Delight (no side, as they are quite large)......it was incredible! I've had it before, but maybe only 'take out' and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely, as did she. The sauce is to die for and the food quality is excellent and a good price. Now I'm kind of looking forward to going back!!
I hadn't been since the new owners took over because the place was closed for lunch (how dare they!!), but recently they've opened up again with a great lunch menu! I had the Goat Cheese Salad Oh La La! Very fancy for a pub, let me tell you......French goat cheese grilled and served on a garden salad in a french vinaigrette. The presentation was beautiful and the flavour, OMG! Big salad too for $ 9.00. The Boss had the Curry Coconut Noodle with chicken in a creamy curry coconut sauce on chow mien. It smelled delicious and he said it was fantastic!! He ordered the lunch size (1/2 order), but accidentally got the full order. It was a lot of food, but he did a pretty good job taking her down! $ 12 for full order, $ 8 for half. The tavern used to be really dark and had only 2 or 3 tables with a big pool table in the middle.....now they've opened the place right up, tore out a wall, got rid of the pool table, added 5 or so tables, installed incredible hardwood floors and a tin ceiling, installed a garage-type door. Its bright and cheery and I'm so looking forward to going back. I hear the burgers are the best in Walkerville, so that's probably my next purchase! I encourage you to check it out! I really, really loved it!
I'm new to the Walkerville neighborhood and have quickly become a regular here. The owners are friendly guys, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the food is absolutely outstanding. It's rare to find a pub that does such great food without being pretentious about it. The burgers are all natural (best I've had in a pub in a long time), the salads are fresh, and their noodle dishes are simply the best I've had anywhere, anywhere at all. The beer selection leaves a little to be desired, but I'm hoping they'll start carrying beers from the Walkerville Brewery that just opened around the corner. Give this place a try! You won't regret it.
Just got back from Greek Boy. The food was pretty bad. We ordered two gyros, fries, and a Greek salad; the gyros weren't all that..the meat was pretty thick and somewhat dry, the fries were very greasy and crunchy... when you bit into them the grease would go all over your mouth. The Greek salad barely had any tomatoes, onion, olives in it; it was drenched in dressing and the feta cheese was cut into small shreds that mixed in with the dressing and it looked like a mess. Don't feel so good after eating all of that; it's like eating at mcds. We also asked for water and instead of giving us glasses with water they charged us for two bottles. We paid 21 bucks for food that wasn't good. Won't be going back there again. First and last time.
I got 4 pieces of white fish (1 lg, 3 smaller) with a really nice, thin & crispy batter served with excellent fresh cut fries, awesome coleslaw (and I'm not usually a fan of coleslaw) and fresh tartar sauce. It was excellent!!! My husband had the same and enjoyed his meal as well....so did the two dudes at the next table!! We sat on the patio and its gorgeous out there, with a nice garden and hanging baskets! We took the whole family back 1 week later!
I had the Meatloaf Sliders (3) with a side of Fingerling Potato Salad.....the sliders were AMAZING! Really flavourful with a nice bun. Topped with White Cheddar, Garlic Mustard & Slaw. The Potato Salad was fresh and tasted pretty good, but I'll likely try something else next time. My boss had the Recession Dinner which had 3 pieces of Fried Chicken & Fresh Cut Fries with Homemade Gravy....he said the chicken was crispy and juicy and he enjoyed the fries and gravy too. Personally, I think they need a lunch menu though, as prices are high for lunch and you get too much food! Gotta keep it under $ 10.00. I brought a slider and 1/2 my salad home. Looking forward to going back though!
Love stopping by after work when I don't want to cook! You can get a whole gourmet meal for a really good price and all you have to do is heat it up! Love the baked goods too...I would highly recommend the scones (my favorite). I also really appreciate that she uses fresh local ingredients!
My family and I are extremely picky with wear we eat. We have been all over essex county for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes we talk about how we should all be getting paid to be food critiques because of how picky we are. The Coffee House is by our favourite place to eat. The setting is terrific, the service is fantast, and most importantly, the food is to die for! We are now on a forst name basis with the restaurant staff, and will continue to be some of their many return customers.
Sadly, they've taken the Lettuce Wraps off the menu....mustn't have been a big seller. Anyway, I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and it was very tasty w/ good quality ingredients. Served with Salsa and Sour Cream. Great with a cold beer. Entertaining band as well. I'd definitely go back!
We all had the Chicken Shawarma. It was DELICIOUS and very big! I couldn't finish, and although at first I was thinking it was the best Shawarma I'd ever had, I was getting sick of it by the time I passed it off to the boy. I think it was just too much....anyway, that place is rockin'.....very busy! Nice people...definitely go back soon!!
After adventures in Lunch and every place we drove to was closed, we ended up at Bubi's Awesome Eats.....I ordered the Popeye Pita Melt, but they brought me a burger so I sent it back....then they brought me another burger and I told the waitress that I didn't order a burger, I ordered a wrap....well, apparently there is a burger also called the Popeye so our waitress thought that's what I wanted. She did offer to get me something else, but everyone else was already eating so I kept this burger.......anyway, I ate it and it did taste good but it was really weird. The burger was served w/ grilled peppers and onions sitting on top of 4 pcs of pita. Not sure how you are supposed to eat it, so I left the pita. Came with a side salad. Our waitress (cute girl) took the burger off the bill (thank you). It was buy one get one for $2 anyway...Dan had a burger also (no bun) and he wasn't crazy about his, thought it was dry. New Girl had a chicken wrap w/ fries and said it was very good. We also tried the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cheesecake....meh, it was okay.
