I have been ordering take out and dinning in at Grand Valley for years. This one experience has me tainted for ever. On Mothers Day, my family and I places am order. Upon pick up, we received 2 bags and didn't bother checking the bag as we have never had problems. We arrived home and realized have the order was missing! So we called again to only get attitude and was asked to return our food and bring it back to the store. We replied no, and for them to deliver. They delivered the rest after having called again, to remind them that they should put us as a priority as we are waiting for the rest of our food. Free having that delivered, when opening the bag we discovered that the sweet and sour pork & chicken had no sweet and sour sauce!! Well my husband was tired of calling and so I did. When called I spoke to 2 different people. The first was a woman who didn't speak English very well and the second is a man. He assumed it was us calling because he already knew the address. I suggested that they should do something to compensate the hassle that was brought to us through this order. He asked the "manager" and came back to ask me what I wanted. I stated that they should offer something as they messed up multiple times in one night. He asked with lots of attitude " what you want money back?". I said well it should be something, then he proceeded to say " well I'm delivering it". As if that were compensation and of course he had such an attitude from the beginning. Not once did they apologize for the inconvenience. Disappointed to say the least. The food is good, but the service is unbelievably horrible!! Perhaps you would might not experience the horrible service this time but it's bound to happen :(
Greasy overprice food !!! All meals in the $10.00 + price range. Menu is pretty well the same with very little change. Fish not bad , but they seem to push wraps and other greasy finger type foods, pricey for the crap you get, but just my opinion....Tried a couple times to be fair and wasn't impressed. Would like to hear a positive review ????
I've gone to Heather Belles several times and had a decent dinner, but the last two times even before I left I could fell my stomach turning, hurried home fearing the worse, but ended up with with severe indigestion and acid reflux. This continued for several hours, I,ve been there several other times and had " no problems " now I'm sorry to say I for one will not be returning, a friend recently suggested going there for a halibut dinner and I told him of my experience and he said he was going to Sir Cedrics instead !!! Stay away from this place... I also agree this place is" downright dirty"....My 2 cents....
Good food, extremely slow service and the worst experience I've ever encountered personally, very rude! The person that waited on us was so rude that he was yelling and arguing with us about how long we waited for our order, telling us that they don't need or want customers like us just because we asked if it would be much longer since my grandson was crying and wanted to go home. I was in shock as this took place, never happened ever to me before like this. I ordered the food at 11:35am via telephone, they said it would be ready for pick up at 12:10. We didn't get our order until 12:40. The service/treatment was so bad it can't make up for the food quality.
$9.95 halibut dinner , light crisp batter with fantastic hilarious server! My new Friday tradition.
Generous portion, and the fish was cooked just right, not greasy. Our server Ronda, made us feel like we were her regulars and she served the food hot and our orders were all spot on, no mistakes.
I'm bringing in my fussy mother tonight , looking forward to another great experience!
Went to Nico's to celebrate my wife and my anniversary and we were treated very, very well. The salads were great, the meals outstanding, the wine delicious and the after dinner Chocolate winter coffee was absolutely fantastic. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to one and all. great atmosphere as well. Homey and well serviced. Keep up the great work!!
I just spent $37.00 and feel cheated! I took my daughters and grandsons out for lunch. The servers had no concept of service - they would put a hamburger on the tray on the counter next to the cold draft from the drive-through window. They would then serve the drive through. Out came a fry, put that on the cold tray. Serve the drive through, then put a burnt hot dog on the tray. I retrieved the food as it came out to try to have some hot food for the family. The servers were unclear on the concept of putting the items under the heat lamps until it was all ready. The cook - he had no idea of how to do one order in completion. They desperately need training!! I feel cheated - $37.00 for a lously meal.
I won't be back there. I work hard for my money and when I am ripped-off like that, I get very upset. I will be sure to let my friends know of this ruined day. Thanks for ensuring that my special day with my grandsons was a dud!
The Chicken Quesadilla had really nice quality chicken, great cheese, served with green onion, lettuce, sour cream & salsa. It was the perfect size for lunch. The Boss had the Bean Soup and said it was very tasty, and the Pastrami on Rye. I've also had the Club House Sandwich and it was excellent! Love that place!! ;)
I ordered the Chicken Florentine - 8oz Chicken Breast stuffed with Spinach, Goat Cheese and Bacon, finished with a warm Sun Dried Tomato Cream, with Market Fresh Vegetables and Pave au Gratin (potatoes)....SO DELICIOUS and so beautifully presented!! It was a little extravagant for lunch, I know, but we had the Groupon so it wasn't much out of pocket! The Boss had the Cheese Burger with Fresh Cut Fries and Chipotle Mayo for dipping!! He said the burger was good, the bun was perfect and the Fries and Dip were fabulous!! (I got to try them and I agree!) Its pricey in there but the food is so good!! Great service too! I'll definitely be going back!!
I've never had falafel before, and I'm so glad I tried it. I ordered the Hummazing Wrap with Falafel.....really fresh whole wheat pita with 3 heaping spoonfuls of traditional hummus, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onion, green pepper, house sauce and baked falafel.....incredibly delicious and the sandwich is really big, I couldn't even finish!!! The daughter had the Hummazing Chicken Wrap and really liked hers as well!! Can't wait to go back!
I was looking for a restaurant open for lunch on New Years Day so I posted a question on Facebook and it turns out Spitfire & Firkin was open, yay!! I ordered the Grilled Vegetable and Goat Cheese Salad ("Good Choice" said the waitress, she orders it all the time). It was delicious, served with a nice Balsamic Vinaigrette. Hubby ordered the Peameal Bacon Sandwich and the bun was excellent, the bacon crispy all around, great flavour. The Daughter ordered the Maple Pulled Pork Sandwich and WOW!! It was the best pulled pork sandwich I'd ever tried. Tender meat, maple, cheese and breaded apples!! You heard me, BREADED APPLES!! Absolutely delicious!! I cannot wait to go back and order one for myself.! Kinda pricey in there, but I'll pay the price for ♥love♥
Exceptional pizza with loads of toppings...................amazing crust, nice garlicky flavour. Will definately order from this location again.
Parking is limited though but easily accessible from Lauzon. A well-needed restaurant in the east end.
Price is definately relative to the quality of pizza and the amount of toppings.
We definately love the website which allows us to see the menu options.
Cheese Wheelz @ Lauzon (519-980-8278)
Pros:
- Pizza was cooked thoroughly and not burned
- Toppings are fresh, and they are very generous when it comes to the amount of toppings
- The amount of sauce used was pretty descent, more on the runny side
- Waiting time was very short, approx.15 minutes from call to pickup
- Inside the store was clean and swept.
Cons:
- The sauce could use a little more kick, in the areas of spices
- The their x-large pizzas are the same size as a large just cut into smaller slices
- The customer service lacked a friendly feel, the cook/cashier seemed agitated and upset, but they still served me professionally.
- They hack specials with their food, i.e. get a FREE pop with the purchase of a large pizza.
** All in all this pizza joint is a great place to get great pizza at a reasonable price. You're family will get full of this pizza, and man o' man is it ever good. The service is ALWAYS professional. PLEASE TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT, AS WITH ALL RESTAURANTS PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES, THEY WILL CORRECT IT. ARROGANCE GETS YOU NOWHERE! CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS FIRST BUT THAT DON'T GIVE YOU A REASON TO PUT ANYONE DOWN, THEY ARE HUMAN JUST LIKE YOU!!!!
5 courses of great food & beer. Here are the highlights! The Braised Lamb Shank Stuffed Sushi Rice Globes were amazing! The wild berry salad was definitely the prettiest salad I've ever been served. The beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the potatoes stuffed with goat cheese were crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside! Peach & chocolate dessert, devine!!
I ordered the Pulled Pork Po Boy Sandwich w/ Fresh Cut Fries. It was really, really good....sweet sauce on a perfectly toasted bun. Not a lot of meat in the sandwich, but just enough for me! The fries were perfect. Hubby had the Rock & Rolla Burger, a fresh, hand packed 8oz burger topped with bbq pulled pork, homemade black bean chili, roasted red peppers, sautéed onions, melted jalapeno Havarti, drizzled with whiskey bbq sauce. Fabulous!! And the place was really busy, so people know how good it is! ;) Can't wait to go back!
Of course I ordered the Perogies w/ potato & cheese....they were very nice, fried to perfection with nice grilled onions.....I loved them! New Girl had the same. The Boss had the Borscht soup (which he's been dreaming about for 25 years since his last visit) and the Stuffed Red Peppers. He liked the peppers, but not enough to order them again. I'd go back, but next time I might bring my broom & dust pan....
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich w/ Fresh Cut Fries......it was delicious!! Really nice quality chicken breast, lightly dusted with a southwest sauce. Just enough fresh cut fries (not a ton like other places). I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch!! Hubby had the Chili Dogs with Fresh Cut Fries and thought they could have used a few more onions, but good. Couple of Coors light. I like it there, and did you know they opened in 1878!?
I had The Ambassador - Smoked Salmon panini w/ capers, dill and cream cheese! WOW!!! ♥♥♥ Loved it!! Grilled to perfection! Served with a mixed green salad with a really nice dressing. The Boss had the Beefy (Roast beef w/ provolone and other stuff and a great horsey mayo). New Girl highly recommends The Windsor (Grilled chicken panini)....we all loved our meals, we all loved the ambiance, the prices, the service....can't wait to go back!! Seriously delicious! ;)
We had an absolutely amazing dinner- My boyfriend refuses to eat anything but pizza and burgers and after I forced him to come to Monaco, he begs me to go back all the time. Best restaurant we have experienced in a very long time, also the bellydancers was a nice touch really enjoyed the show. Thanks!!!!
For some reason I'm surprised there is a review of the bakery/restaurant on here.
I usually dine there often when I can. The customer service I find great. The young girl that works there is always asking if we needed anything and and very patient since I take forever to order! I'm not a huge fan of burgers, but the last time I went there I ordered a burger combo and surprisingly it was good! which says a lot for me. A picky eater here. But I guess my luck there has been great. The falafal and fatoush are my favourite though. The sauce in the fatoush is great, and they aren't cheap with the veggies! lol. ANyways this place is worth the try, and its cheap! :)
BTW the cheese pies are awesome! and I've got all my employees to back me up on that :P if you want to order something for a small event or gathering the lebenese pies are the way to go. I usually order the small cheese and sausage, and the cheese and olives. The people freak out over them lol. Oh lets not forget the spanish pies! I need to learn how to make these at home.. otherwise I am spending wayyy to much over them lol. Anyways thats all before I continue babbling on.; :)
