This place kind of sprung up overnight. I was walking by to go to the excellent Malaysian restaurant next door when I noticed the little bistro that had been there had closed down and a notice in the window announced that a new Pho restaurant was going to be opening the following week. I liked the bistro had been there but was super excited to see a Vietnamese restaurant was opening up. White Rock is sorely missing many good, authentic types of ethnic cuisines. I actually was their first customer when they opened their doors the following week. Service was a little confused (of course) on my first encounter, but the employees were all very nice and the atmosphere was very friendly. I got my order to go and took it home to share with my husband. We were both delighted that the Pho was delicious. Usually Pho can be either too salty, sweet, bland or oily.... but this soup had a lovely balance of flavours and depth without any of these unappealing tastes. The salad rolls are well assembled and have a nice mix of vegetables and herbs without dulling it down by using a tonne of rice noodles as a filler. Their Vietnamese subs are nicely done with very flavourful ingredients (lemon chicken and omelet are my favourites) although I wish the bun was not so dense.
Over all, Pho 777 is a great addition to White Rock and the food, atmosphere and service are all better than I expected for the area. Also the prices are very fair for the quality and location of the restaraunt. Seek them out and I hope you enjoy your meal(s) as much as we do.
