Moni Thai serves authentic Thai cuisine. Affordable Prices and open 7 days a week.
Another restaurant that could not handle the winter at the beach. From everything I heard they were actually ok. I wonder if the valet parking that they have started would have helped them. The location they have probably has the best view on the beach. It is right at the foot of the pier. Location has had so many owners.
Located just across from the pier, this Thai restaurant opened about a week ago. They are just starting to get up and running so they are still waiting for their liquor license and credit/debit machine to be installed....thus until then it's cash only and non-alcoholic drinks.
We walked in and were impressed with the ambience.... it was quite nice with dark colors and live orchids decorating the restaurant. The ambiance is nice inside, but they hadn't set up their patio yet which was a bit disappointing on such a lovely warm evening.
My husband and I decided to share a appetizer platter which was surprisingly large and diverse. It had 3 different kinds of rolls (fresh prawn salad rolls, veg spring rolls, hawaiian spring rolls, chicken satay). All were very good and generous in size.
I ordered the Tom Yum Goong soup and thought it was very good, especially the broth which was flavourful and had depth without being oily. The prawns were a little overdone though.
My husband ordered the Cashew Chicken which was loaded with lots of red/green peppers and was quite complex its flavours.
The service was quite good. There was only one server....I believe she was the owner, while her co-owner husband was cooking? She told us that they'd previously owned a Thai restaurant in Red Deer, Alberta. She did constant quality checks and came by frequently with hot water to replenish our green tea.
All in all, a very pleasant dining experience with a lovely view of the pier if you are sitting by the windows.....or cosy booths further inside. There are still some snags to work out, but that is to be expected with a new restaurant.
We are just so happy to see a good new ethnic restaurant open up in White Rock..... come give these guys a visit to welcome them to the neighbourhood!
We have dined here about six times and have been more impressed each time. The food is exceptional. The pad tai is not too sweet as in some other restaurants. The curry dishes are the specialty but the menu is all excellent. Service is great and the setting is more modern than ethnic Thai. This is a well kept little secret that is just waiting to be discovered. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Finally another Thai restaurant in White Rock/South Surrey. But this one has much better food than that other Thai restaurant in the area. Great flavors and fresh ingredients. Still not quite taking me back to street food vendors in Bangkok. Was there for dinner about a week ago. Service was a little slow but they had a big group that got seated before us. Prices are average.
New Thai restaurant in excellent location. Three of us tried it out - one of which was vegetarian. As I am particular about my Thai food I found it to be close to authentic with rich sauces and fresh vegetables. We particularly enjoyed the Pad Thai. The services was attentive and flexible in catering to our likes and dislikes. I hope White Rock supports this restaurant as it is serving some of the best Thai I have found in Canada so far.
Recently went to this new restaurant located at the pier in White Rock for lunch. The view is incredible, and what a great spot for people watching and being in the middle of all the action along the beach! I have always loved Thai food, and was impressed by the variety on the menu as well as the selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes (I eat meat, but was at the restaurant with a vegetarian couple). We ordered 4 different dishes, including some curries and stir fries- it was all excellent. My personal favorite was the basil fried rice with chicken. Just a warning, if you ask for it spicy- it is very spicy (but we like it that way)! The owners personally came to our table and were very sweet, we enjoyed the service. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody!
