I am from Vancouver and came down to white rock (marine drive) with a few of my friends and to cut the story short we ended up at Italian Touch for dinner. At first we were not really sure of what we wanted but I am so glad that we ended up at this restaurant as its one of the good experiences I have had in a long time.
The menu was nice and had a nice variety of items to choose from. I ended up with calamari for appetizers and barka (fisherman’s boat) as my main course meal which was a pure delight. The service was good and to add on to that the view was just beautiful.
I know that I can keep going on about the restaurant but I am going to take a breather and say that people should try this place on their own to see how good it actually is.
It looks like it should be a fabulous place for many return visits but it was odd and no one in my party would go back:
Some of the appetizers were good but the main courses were bland and heavy. This was particularly irritating because we waited 30-40 minutes for them to arrive.Apparently this is the norm. It was a lot of sitting followed by a lot of unexciting calories.
The service was trying hard but I thought it was odd they didn't say anything about the long waits for the main course which is par for the course here from what I've read. They were too fussy about some things - like constantly pouring our wine even though the food was so delayed. I hope it's not a ploy to get people to buy more wine!
Food: Energetic menu, great calamari appetizer but main courses disappointingly greasy and lacklustre
Service: Unacceptably long wait for main course that turned out to be mediocre. Service was almost overly attentive but then became surly when a small request was made to our very moody waitress.
Ambience: They try hard and they have a view of the beach
My wife and I along with our out-of-town friends had a lovely dinner at Italian Touch. I am Italian and we like to frequent Italian restaurants, but we haven't had such a great dinner for years! As we walked in, we got a sense of modern Italian decorations, the lights were dimmed, the music in the background was very harmonious, and the smell of food was unbelievable. Since we had reservations, we got seated at a window table, and were thus able to enjoy the beautiful ocean view. We ordered some wine and appatizers (the antipasto was amazing, and so were the shrimps in this sambuca and garlic white sauce!!) Our waitress was very helpful not only in regards to the food, but also recommending a wine that would go with our entrees. We had lasagna, pollo marsala, osso buco, and salmon albani. Everything was amazingly cooked and we had an absolutely great time. Compliments to the Chef, and we best of luck to the owners!
Just had to put in our two cents worth. This is a fabulous Italian restaurant. And lucky us, we are only a two block walk away. Finally, a very classy Italian Restaurant on the Beach in White Rock. The menu is large, the food is to die for, the presentation is beautiful, the service is excellent, the music is Italian (and played very softly in the background), the decor is tasteful, the view is stunning and the wine list is excellent. We have lived in White Rock for over 18 years and finally are blessed with a great Italian Restaurant. We have seen many come and go in this location. We wish the owners the best of luck with The Italian Touch! We just came home from our first wonderful dinner there and will be back every week!!
My fiance and I were quite disappointed with our experience at Italian Touch. We had a $10 off coupon with the purchase of 2 drinks and the waiter seemed annoyed that we were using it. We got no refills on our pop that was full of ice (and cost $2.25). As for the food itself it was nothing special. My dish cost 17.99 and had three different types of pasta. The linguine pesto was decent but the other ones were mediocre. Overall we felt let down by the experience and for the price we do not think it is a good deal. There are much better restaurants along marine drive and we do not expect to ever dine there again.
