I went to White rock one morning for nice walk. Came across this busy little place for breakfast.
Place was packed with local people so we thought food would be great, how wrong we were!
Long wait for 2 breakfast, fake hollandaise sauce and burned pan fries.
I don't understand why people line up for their crappy food.
1. Had to wait an incredible amount of time for our food, probably an hour or so. Restaurant wasn't even full, and it's small in there. Cook was doing orders table by table, and somehow served two tables after us before us. Cook did the same to the couple beside us, who complained to the server.
2. Very, very overcooked, dark brown and dry omelette. Expensive- $12- too.
3. They used eggs-in-a-carton for all scrambelled/omelette orders.
4. They don't do poached eggs? See #3, perhaps.
Such a disappointing breakfast given the potential of the spot.
Have been coming here for more than a decade, largely for breakfast. This is very much a local haunt in White Rock. The restaurant is very small but they do have an outside patio of sorts.
This is basic fare, with a few wrinkles thrown in. The meals are a good size, although I wouldn't say you could share a breakfast unless the two of you aren't overly hungry or order a side or two.
One of their trademarks is the huge raspberry muffins. Not a fan myself of the berry but it is popular & they go fast.
Coffee is self serve, They serve one kind of toast. They don't poach eggs. Prepare to wait &/or be watched by those seeking your table.
A good spot to try, particularily on a nice sunny morning, with the breach stroll just across the street.
