Crescent Beach Bistro is a warm and unpretentious spot with a menu heavy on seafood.
Despite our reservation having been handled with courtesy, our lunch was most disappointing. Not only was the food poorly prepared, without flavour, even the bread was rock hard, with the waitress accepting no responsibility, advising this is how bread is when warmed up, Clearly the so-called 'Chef' has no training and the "anything goes" attitude was very obviousl. Our luncheon was expensive considering both my friend and I, usually an easy-going pair, came away convinced we were 'ripped off' that definitely would never return. This review is our way of letting others know Crescent Beach Bistro is certainly not all it is cracked up to be. Having read previous reviews about this cozy Bistro, we most definitely disagree with all positive reviews and suspect they may have been written by diners with little experience of eating out in places where 'Chefs' are indeed 'Chefs' and staff care about customer service. We do not recommend the Crescent Beach Bistro and are happy to say we rarely find it necessary to post such a negative review. Thank You!
Have had 2 recent dinners at the Bistro and was very pleased both times with the dining experience. Very fresh salads and soups served and the main courses were always consistent in quality and nicely portioned. One of the favorites is the Seafood Cotriade. The owners and staff are always very welcoming and the ambiance is cozy. Definitely a favorite for the local area clientele.
This restaurant has been named incorrectly in dinehere, so don't get confused if you can't find a place with this name. Anyway. Went here for my mother in law's birthday. Upon entering I thought it was a good place to take someone's mom or grandmother as it is decorated like Grandma's. An intimate little room with flowery tablecloths and landscapes all in muted tones. Not a trendy hot spot for sure, but good for the older set. The older French waiter even gave her a kiss on the cheek for her birthday. The service was great. The waiter knew his stuff and when to be around. All the food was delicious , salads, mains and desserts, and I am not easily impressed. I tried to stop eating my pasta because I was full, but I couldn't! Everyone in our group of six was pleased and would definitely return. There was only one negative. The glass covering the tables had chipped on some of the corners and had been covered with duct tape. Hideous! Granny would not be pleased. The beach is also within walking distance so you can walk off some of the calories after.
My wife and I tried this restaurant about 4 months ago. We each had one of the daily specials; I had the halibut cheeks and my wife had the duck - they were both excellent! We took another couple there about a month later and we were all impressed - we just wish we had left more room for dessert - superb - and apparently made in house! White chocolate cheesecake - yummy! We went there again a week ago - 8 of us for a Valentine's Day dinner. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the friendly staff and the cheesecake!
I have eaten at this restaurant many times since moving to this
area and each time I have not been disappointed. The wine list
is good and varied with reasonable markups. The seafood meals
are outstanding, especially the Halibut and Salmon dishes. The
desserts are fantastic, especially the Creme Brulee.......smooth!!
The prices are not out of line with any good seafood restaurant
and the service is pleasant and very efficient. I have taken many
friends and family members there and everyone likes it very much. I will be celebrating my next birthday there next month
with my family.
