This is the second time having dinner at this restaurant. At the first time, we waited for the food for almost an hour. At the end, the Manager offered complimentary dessert to us. On Friday night (June 11), we took the advantage of their $35 3-course menu special promotion. However, the food quality was way below the standard of a steak house. First the appetizer Escargots were very salty and the Prawns were overcooked. We ordered 'Steak and Lobster' and 'Filet Mignon' as the main course. Both the sirloin and the filet were not fresh, tasteless and 'lifeless', didn't taste like beef at all. Even the dessert was terrible. I ordered the Cappuccino Ice cream Pie (ice cream on top of the hot fudge). The ice cream is okay (I don't think it will go wrong!) But the hot fudge was so hard like a stone. We tried to break it with our spoon but not successful. Then we asked the server why it was so hard. He asked if I wanted a knife to cut it up..........???!!! We talked to the Manager about the food quality and disappointment. He said their beef is AAA top quality beef from Alberta and absolutely fresh and never been frozen. Anyway, he apologized and offered us a 25% discount on the bill. However, the story was not yet ended at all. In the middle of the night, I got a tummy ache and went to bathroom twice..........food poisoning! It almost ruined our weekend getaway! I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My bf and I were in whistler for the long week-end and were looking forward to a great meal during our stay. Walked around the village for awhile and almost all of the restaurants were pretty packed, so we decided to keep going, and decided on Ric`s. Looked at the menu, seemed decent, and the line up was not long , and it was pretty busy inside. we sat at the lounge while we waited for our table, and ordered a couple of drinks. he ordered a beer and i decided on a cocktail, which was $10, and tasted like cranberry and club soda. 20 mins later, finally called in for our table, and to my dismay, they sat us right were the food was coming out, and i could see the dirty kitchen floor from where i was seating. i asked the hostess if she could move us, but she said it was too busy of a night, and there were several reservations waiting to be seated. we decided to just stay and not look at the dirty kitchen floor, and waited ordered our meal. we both ordered steak (sirloin) and lobster with twice baked potato, and shared a crab cake appetizer. The steak was ok, not great, and the lobster was salty., crab cake was dry, and they served cold hard butter with our bread ( atleast the bread was freshly baked). i have spent more money on other restaurants and didnt mind it as long as the food and service were great. However, Ric`s is a total disappointment, it was a big waste of $100.

What else needs to be said? There was nothing that really impressed us. The food was alright, the service a little frazzeled and altogether a little overpriced for the experience. I don't think I'd be going out of my way to go back. There are way too many good restaurants to choose from here that do some amazing stuff.

This was our favorite restaurant for the time we were here. The waitstaff and management went beyond our expectations for feeding a large group of 38. We not only enjoyed the meal, but were treated very kindly. It was Christmas night and even thought the restaurant was packed, we weren't rushed or felt as though we had to make room for the next diners. Thank you Clay and all your staff for a wonderful, memorable night. The food was suberb, and the lobster was cooked correctly. We couldn't get enough of the desert. Make Ric's a must go to restaurant in Whistler.

We decided to see if the Whistler location is any better than the Victoria one, and we were not disappointed. It was a busy Saturday night and we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table, even though we had reservations, but 10 mins isn't long. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine, and made some good recommendations. The Mr. and I started with soup and salad, and then ordered steak (Sirloin and French cut) and both were very good and cooked just as we asked. I wish they would make more of an effort with the veggies though. A couple of sticks of steamed zucchini and a chunk of raw red pepper isn't very inspired. The potatoes are good. We didn't have room for dessert! Nice evening.

Some girlfriends and I went to this restaurant on a whim, and we were blown away! The service was very good, our server was knowledgeable about the food and was very friendly. The food was GREAT! I had the seared Ahi tuna (get this, it's well worth it), and everyone else I was with was really happy with their meals as well. Vegetarian selections are few, but my friend was able to find a good pasta dish. This place is pricey, but we got lots of food and walked out very pleased with our experience.
