Fat Tony's is a popular local pizza eatery in the heart of Whistler Village serving.
My husband and I are frequent visitors to whistler and we've ordered Fat Tonys a few times now. The first 2 times we opted for delivery. Not only was the pizza hot and fresh when it arrived but it was pretty quick (we waited about 45 minutes on a Saturday night) and the delivery guy was very friendly and helpful. The first time we ordered a large beef and blue cheese (our hotel recommended we give it a try) and we were not disappointed. I can see why people say its a must try when visiting whistler. The 2nd time we ordered a couple larges and although they were a little pricey (28 for a large meat lovers and 20 for the beef and blue cheese, but that seems to be the whistler way) we were extremely satisfied. I would recommend the pizza to anyone who asked. The 3rd time we decided to give the restaurant at the base of the gondola a try. We didn't regret our decision to venture out. Although our pizza took a little while to cook it was delicious and the servers were all very pleasant. They are licensed (Our kokanees were only 4.50 a bottle!) And we walked away feeling we got an excellent meal for a great value. The restaurant itself is more like a cafeteria style setting then fine dining, but that's to be expected when walking into a pizzeria. Again I would definitely recommend a friend give this place a try :)
Ordered two medium pie's from Tony's; a Meat-lovers and a Hawaiian. Both were awesome, definitely one of the better pizzas I've had. The crust was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I even had some left-overs two days later and it was still great pizza.
Pizza's rated out of ten:
Meat-lovers - 9
Hawaiian - 8
It's a bit pricey; paid $44 for the two pizzas delivered. Given the cost I may order from here again but it would have to be a time I'm looking for extra special pizza.
Note: Although I haven't been inside Fat Tony's I gave the Ambiance a 2 because DineHere.ca will not allow a blank category. Also, I can't imagine it would be better then a 2 anyway.
We grabbed a few slices during our stay and they were old and cold, the lady was rude and in general it seemed they didn't want our business. The pizza seemed like over priced Vancouver slice pizza you get for a dollar a slice. The actual restaurant was dirty, stuff everywhere and it smelled like urine outside. I would not go back or reccommend this place to anyone.
