Was in Whistler the last weekend and wanted to have a nice meal. I really wanted some beef carpaccio and this restaurant was the only one we could find.

So we arrive, the restaurant is less than half full and a server comes up to me and says they are completely full until 8. No hostess? So we tell her we would like to make a reservation for 8 then, she says 'fine come back at 8'. She doesn't want to take down my name? I ask her to write it down. We tell her we will be next door in the lounge, she says 'well they have the same menu there, why don't you just eat there?'. i said i wanted to eat in the restaurant!

For the the actual meal the service was ok. Not great. 15 minutes to get the bill cause the machine was down, or something.

We both had the Beef Carpaccio as a starter ($18). Not good. Too dry and bland. Least favorite carpaccio i've had. Plank salmon as a main. Bland, not great for $34. My friend had the chicken, the stuffing that went with it was good but the chicken was dry, not worth $34. Both items weren't presented very well.

Would not come back, ever. Seemed like a restaurant trying to stand up in a nice hotel (the Westin) but just doesn't cut it, yet still expects you to pay $60 / person.
