I saw a review for this place in the paper a ways back and wanted to give it a try if we were ever in the area, and we just happened to be recently so...

We ordered a beef burger and a thai salmon burger, one with seafood chowder. The burgers and fries were decent...I couldn't expect too much more for what they were in a seafood joint. The seafood chowder was good. Would have been more adventurous but we are trying to stay on a budget. I suspect there are tastier items on the menu.

The place is nice. The kind of place you like to spend time in. Nice open front to the patio is very pleasant on a sunny day. Would be a great place to relax and have a beer.

There was only one waitress working the entire place but she effortlessly did a great job of it while still being friendly and calm. She also looked very good doing it too.

Prices are not too cheap, but not exorbitant either. Quite fair for the experience. They have a take out window that seems to have different cheaper items. Might be interesting to try that.

Anyway if I was a local here this would probably be the place I spend most of my time in. Some of the other places in this area are overpriced tourist traps. A shame I won't be able to spend more time in here.

We regularly go to Ya-Ya's and have never been disappointed with the food or service. This is more like a restaurant/pub with a very good menu - a sort of classy pub menu if you like - but with one BIG difference - consistently good oysters - cooked or raw. My fav is the 6 diffent cooked oyster dish with a delicious spinach salad. My wife really likes the fish & chips - way better than Troll's and much better ambiance

Dropped into Ya Ya's after surveying the area for good eats. The menu was very appealing. Lots of delicious seafood options. Our meals were all excellent. Our table ordered the Ya Ya baked oysters platter. Salt Spring Island mussels, fish n chips(we chose yam fries), Seafood curry fettuccine and a Chicken Ceasar salad. For dessert we tried Creme Brulee, and the day's special: homemade chocolate cheesecake. Everything we tried was excellent and skillfully prepared. Definitely my choice for best restaurant in Horseshoe bay.

Located in Horseshoe Bay there is always a good vibe. With a pub-like atmosphere and televisions playing sports it is a good place to go to grab lunch. My family and I have been there countless times as it is our choice for affordable seafood and we have never been disappointed. I go for the oysters but sometimes opt for fish and chips or mussels. They have interesting options such as an Oyster Burger and great specials. For first timers I would recommend the option that includes one of each type of oyster available.
