My friend and I walked one block from my house to The Truffle House today.
What impressed me from the beginning was that our waitress was incredibly courteous! I have never encountered not even one truly courteous waitress in any of the Dundarave restaurants except for this one.
The restaurant was spotlessly clean. I like clean. Very pretty and modern interior. Interesting art on the walls. (My friend was mesmerized by the posters and artwork.)
We each ordered the dish called West Van's Finest Omelette which is a 2-egg omelette with vegetables and cheese, a choice of ham, turkey sausage or bacon, home fried potatoes, and toast.
My friend said he didn't think it would be filling but, in fact, turned out to be filling and satisfying. He said it had a nice balance of elements. We ate everything on our plates including the garnishes.
My toast was a bit cool on arrival (the butter wouldn't melt). The turkey sausage was a bit dry inside but, for all I know, turkey sausage everywhere is dry. If it wasn't for these two minor things, I would have given a rating of 5 for the food because I liked everything else about the restaurant.
I suppose I should have told them about the toast and sausage because that would give them the opportunity to correct those 2 issues. I will tell the owner tomorrow, in a nice way.
