Great Family Place...

It was a cold and wet Vancouver Friday night... My wife and I were looking for a little tropical "pick-me up" and checked out the reviews... Thai Pudpong seemed to fit the bill and it didn't disappoint. Our server Mani (who I believe is an owner) was gracious, funny and extremely welcoming. He is so attentive... he helped my wife put on her coat as we were leaving. The food is excellent... The Tom Kha Gai (chicken cocunut soup) was one of the best I've ever had. My wife shared the soup and the deep-fried crab & shrimp roll. The roll was very good and different from the garden variety... the shrimp tail sticks out from the end... nice touch.

The mains were good. We had a good quantity of rice (asked for two servings) to accompany the beef red curry and my wife's vegetable stir fry with peanut sauce. We specified we wanted medium heat and everything was just perfect. A great blend of the traditional thai tastes... Sweet, sour and spicy. We told Mani we would be back... He joked "Tomorrow, I hope..."

If you're in the neighbourhood and are looking to support a nice family restaurant and enjoy some simple, authentic Thai food, this is the place.

Authentic Thai Restaurant

The food is incredible, both times that I've eaten there. Although the portions where small, the seasoning and spicing and freshness were incredible.
The server, which I believe is the owner, is super friendly and comedic. His comments alone were entertaining enough for the evening.
One flaw that I could say is that they are super cheap with the rice. So if you are a rice lover, I would say to order take out and make yourself one huge pot of rice at home to enjoy the meal.

For Thai food this is the place. It is also the greatest place in West Van for lunch. My family love this place and request it every time. Lunch prices are excellent and the food superb. The service could not be better. I love the gentleman with his wit and charm - he makes the meal a real treat with his attentiveness and incredibly quick quips. Gentle, kind, polite, funny man. We leave laughing with totally appeased appetites. The food is fresh, tasty, nicely served and we all have our favourites and the gentleman asks us if we are having the usual - we just grin! The papaya dessert is a must. So is the cold Thai tea. The chicken on spinach with peanut sauce, yellow curry, and garlic pork are our usual, try them. Excellent.

Best Thai in N.Shore, and maybe in Vancouver

Love this place. It is very authentic Thai food, maybe a slightly limited menu, but whats there is always good. It fresh, spicey if you ask for it. Portions are a bit small, so it can be a bit pricey if you are hungry, but, we think its worth it. We generally get the YomNui salad, a hot Penang curry, one of their thai Basil stir fries, and squid. Iam not a Phad thai lover, but others in the party loved it. Also love the funny older-dude waiter who is English I think, and spent too many a year sniffing the spices!

The food here is freshly made and totally delicious! Servings are generous, flavours are delectable, service is cheerful and attentive. We have tried other Thai Restaurants and always come back to the Pudpong because of superior quality in food preparation and presentation, and the wonderful staff, all members of the same family who really care about their customers. We order the fried rice with pineapple, the seafood curry, prawms either with peanut sauce or with garlic sauce, the pad thai, and the many yummy appetizers. Try it; the food will win you over!

Got lunch there. Went for the pad thai. Was sooo good! Came with salad that was ok and only took around 10 minutes. The helping was very generous, and the pad thai tasted fresh and great, one of the best ive had in a while. I have had expensive thai food at expensive thai restaurants and this was just as good. OH YA!! It was only 7 Bucks!

We have dined hear many times and always leave with a smile and a belly full of delightful authentic Thai food. Like many corporate places the portions are ungodly however; this gem gives portions that make sense. the satays are delectable and the thai pod pon is mouth watering. the watermellon carvings are a true mark of a true Thai restaurant. thank you for once again being True to Thai food. It shows. :)

I went in with a friend, we shared the fried crab and shrimp rolls, the beef salad, the soup, the chicken coconut basil entree and the chicken cashew entree, and waters, and our bill with tax and tip came to $75. But the food was excellent. Our waiter was hilarious, a joy. If I hadn't seen this site's <$10 miscatagorization, I would have expected the prices we paid.
