This place has it all. The food is top-notch and the service is incredible. I came here recently to dine, and I left very satisfied.
The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a server immediately appeared holding menus. There were about 2 other tables occupied, so this was very fast. I was able to have the option to choose where I wanted to sit, and I thought this was very considerate. The chef and waitress are very friendly and happy, and accommodate you extremely well.
Food: I ordered edamame and a sushi box. I also ordered water which was immediately poured for me and served cold. The waiting time was very fast, at around 6-8 minutes. The sushi box consisted of 1 miso, salad, assorted tempura, 4 california rolls, 1 piece of shrimp, tuna, and salmon sashimi each, and a bowl of rice. The edamame came first and it was hot, fresh, and not over-salted. The misos were also hot and fresh, and were not too watery or salty. The tempura was hot, crispy, and flavorful, and it also came with a special dipping sauce. The california rolls were exceptional. Each piece was very fresh and tasted amazing. The sashimi was very good, although the shrimp portion was a little small, however, the tuna and salmon portions made up for it. The rice was also hot and fresh. They also provided the option of light soy-sauce, which was very nice.
Service: The waitress was extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. My requests were immediately taken care of, and she was happy to assist in any way. I didn't wait very long for my food, which was amazing since I was not the only one being served. This service is definitely what brings me back, along with the food.
Ambiance: The restaurant is small, with about 6 tables and window-seat bar area that seats about 3. The floors were clean, and the paint was not peeling on the walls. The tables were not greasy or dirty, such is the feeling that they immediately clean them after you leave. The whole place had a very calming and relaxing atmosphere, with the light classical music playing in the background. The place did not smell of fish or seaweed too, which was a plus. The bathrooms were clean and did not smell bad, as they provided air freshners and scented candles. This place is very charming, even though it is small.
Value: I feel that I received good value. The food was very good and fresh. The sushi box was $10.95 and the edamame was $4.25. I believe that the edamame was a little too pricey, as the portion wasn't THAT big. However, at least the portion sizes weren't extremely small. But for food this good, I would definitely pay this price, except maybe for the edamame.
The place definitely keeps me coming back. I will always come back to this charming little restaurant, hungry for more.
