First time i went there was few years ago...everything was amazing and i was pleased that finally found an awesome place to eat...however.....everything has gone....the delicious food with good quality and cheap price......nice service....everything...
i went there tonight because there was no option for me since almost 11 pm..long-time waited....low quality food....much more expensive....bad service..even though within my expectation...however... worse than i thought...i found the bill was so expensive for only two people..so i asked them for the detailed receipt, wondering was there any mistake...and then found all of these. they charged me around $1 mistake at the total....as they said..it was the machine problem..i did not care about the 1 dollar..at least at the first moment....also, i found they automatically charged me a 10% service charge without any announcement..so quietly...and the card machine also asked me about the tip amount.....XXXX........of course..i asked them to return back both the service charge and the $1 mistake..they asked me was there anything they did wrong...i said "u made the mistake here and charged the service charge without telling customer"..and they said that was the machine problem, it ALWAYS like that, they can't do anything..i said"is that mean i cannot get my money back?"..finally, they asked me how much i want to get back...i told them gave me back till the correct amount...BUT...they passed the calculation one by one kept calculating the wrong amount without returning back my money and kept me waiting in front of the cashier table....my patient almost ran away..., a guy finally agreed to give me back the money..they dropped a plate with the coins on the table..rudely…..i was angry..but said nothing and leaving 2 cents…I went back to seat and heard the guy kind of shouted “give her back the 2 cents, we don’t want them”…a waitress came and gave me back the cents…I took the two cents and gave them back “cents were banned by government already, why u gave them to me” the guy said..loudly “then why u gave them to me”..”I did not! it was u gave me first!!”…..i was so mad and said “I’m working as a waitress too, but I won’t do this kind of mistake with so awful attitude!”…and I left…but I still hearing the guy kept shouting “u r a waitress so what…what’s wrong with my attitude …and blablabla..” I was so disappointed with full of angry and really mad…….
I have to echo the thoughts of the previous reviewers: the service needs work. My only visit to Young Young was late one Friday night. I only came for a bubble tea, and after getting the attention of the bar guy, finally ordered it. It was taking a long time to make it, so I walked to Mac's down the street, went to the movie place, started a conversation, rented a movie, walked back... and the teas still weren't made! The tables had dirty dishes on them, and despite the four people working, no one was busing tables. There were tons of students around, probably distracting their friends from doing their job. I like the concept of a trendy Japanese food/bubble tea place in Cedar Hill, but it needs work.
this is one place i have stop going to since they first open there new location. i really enjoy there bubble tea, it's very nice but there service is very poor. i like how its a place u can just relax and catch up with friends but the worker just dont care. i would wait in line very postionly and what happen is the server would just avoid me and just continue to talk with there friends. and all the other would just walk by and not say anything. i waited 5min and walk out. this happen twice. busy or not there is no service. i know my review is old and it's not up to date cuz i have not been there but from all my friends that continue to go there says there still not improving. and for those who do get good service , lucky u cuz it's just not my luck!
I've been to "shabu shabu" or "young young's tea house" or whatever it's actually called - the signs outside and the name on the bill don't match-a handful of times, always for bubble tea. Each time, the restaurant/cafe is cold and drafty, and it might as well be cafeteria style, the way the "service" is going. That said...it also seems to be the ONLY BBT place in town that's open in the evenings. The servers don't speak a lick of English - expect to point to the item you'd like to order on the menu. I've had items mysteriously be "unavailable" more than once. Nevertheless, if you crave the unmistakable taste and texture of tasty BBT..this is pretty much it...so best "just suck it up".

This is a cool little restaurant where you can sit on couches or at tables and they have quite a variety of food. The food is quite cheap and most of it that I have tried is fairly good. There is a lot of weird stuff on the menu such as pig intestine soup and stuff like that, but there is normal stuff too such as shrimp fried rice and chicken stir fry. Portions are quite big and fairly cheap. They have bubble teas and juices that are quite good too. The first problem with this place are that none of the servers speak English so unless you actually point at what you are trying to order on the menu, they don't understand and occasionally we have gotten the wrong thing. They don't clear your plates and you have to walk up to the counter if you want anything else, or your bill. We have also ordered food that didn't even come, then when we went to leave, had quite a hard time explaining that we never received it when we saw it on the bill. The second problem is that especially if you go later in the evening there are large crowds of asian students that tend to take over large parts of the restaurant and get rather loud and obnoxious, the service usually dwindles for the other patrons at that time as the servers turn all their attention to their orders as well. The place is worth a try if you want a soup or a plate of rice and the thick toast is to die for, but it is quite a frustrating trip, so don't go if you're in a hurry or want good service.
My friend and I went to Young Young's after classes today. For my first experience at this cafe, I was not only pleasantly surprised with the quality of food, but also ecstatic to find that proper casual Chinese food in Victoria does exist. The menu is not unlike what you would find in Vancouver/Richmond bubble tea cafes: plenty of appetizers (dumplings, deep-fried goodies, etc.), soups/soups with noodles, rice dishes, veggie dishes, and a lengthy section for hotpot (or shabu-shabu).
For drinks, my friend ordered a strawberry pudding milk tea and I got a taro milk tea. The price for each was $4.99 - yikes! I was a little disappointed when I got to the bottom of my drink because I encountered some not properly blended taro powder, but otherwise it was fine. For food, my friend ordered chicken with rice in soup for $6.99. The bowl was GIANT - about half the size of a soccer ball. I ordered shredded pork sauce on rice, wonton with chili sauce, and oyster sauce lettuce. The portions were delightfully huge for the price.
The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. Service, admittedly, is pretty bad, but it is a BBT place, so you can't expect much in terms of fine dining. Dishes were left on tables for ages, and the food was a little slow in coming to the table. However, the waitress was kind and much obliging for requests.
tl;dr: Food is excellent for the price, aside from the bubble tea. A great place to go for students. Don't bring your date here if he/she is impatient, uptight, or a neat freak.
This place has to have the worst service in all of Victoria and likely beyond. Like the reviewer said below, it is an extremely frustrating experience to eat at this place. The servers have no idea what service is about. You literally have to run after them to get tea refilled, ask for extra napkins or get your order taken. Things operate at a snail's pace and the people seem absolutely clueless. I've been here 3 times because my girlfriend likes the food, but I have no patience left to ever return!
The place looks nice inside if you are into that kind of style. I graded the food with two starts because the bubble tea is ok. I have to say that Richmond has better and inexpensive BBT. Too bad there is no competition here.
The food is joke. Most of your orders would be "frozen and heat" kind of thingy. I have been there three times because of my friends and bubble tea but I was dispointed by the food every time.
The service is bad. I would fire every one of them since none of them have sense of customer service.
