The Moon Underwater Pub is an English style pub in offering fresh, homestyle pub fare with a seasonal selection of session ales brewed in their 10 hectoliter brewhouse. Like all traditional English pubs, service is at the bar.
Why? This place is obviously a family run business. Sorry to say but what appears to be Mom and Dad have so little personality you have to wonder why they got into business in the first place.
I don't want to make this too personal but it really was a glaring part of my experience at "The Wet Moon" on Friday night. These people did not chat with customers, at least my table of seven. They didn't even try.
They were mechanical in their performance.
You order up at the bar there is no table service. Sure the place was packed on Friday night perhaps because of a good review in the TC recently but slow, my goodness. I ordered a dozen chicken wings at ten bucks. I swear someone was out back slaughtering the chicken, plucking the feathers one by one and then slicing and dicing. The chicken wings took forever.
Everything at our table was stutter delivered. One persons meal arrived then maybe five, ten , fifteen minutes later someone else's, etc. Not once did Mom or Dad come by and say anything to us. When a meal was ready they simply plopped it down in front of the person who had ordered it, about an hour ago up at the bar. To me this is just unacceptable. If you want people to return engage with your customers. Talk to them, kibitz a little, make it seem like you want their business and appreciate it.
Trust me I could of purchased wings at Costco for less and meatier. While the wings were okay some of them seemed to be of the weight loss variety. Skin and bones with a little sauce.
The beer was fine, nothing special.
I may give them another chance but I sure hope they read my review and accept a little constructive criticism.
I am not hard to please , just want a little appreciation from places where I spend my money.
Lets get this straight, this is an "English Style" pub, this means you order/pay for everything at the Bar, if this isn't the way you operate you may be disappointed.
If you like good beer and above average pub-faire, I highly recommend this place, I go at least once a week for a pint and a meal and always come home with a growler of delicious beer.
