Thai food at last!

We were looking for a good Thai restaurant for some time now and we are glad to come and try Sookjay.

Great food! There Krathong thong (appetizer) - pardon me for the spelling - is so good that I am craving for it while I am writing this review. The Tom Yum soup is so tasty - yum! yum! And the coconut rice is so perfect for the sweet chili fish fillet. I will go back for the food. Definitely!

The server is great, very efficient and friendly. I commend her for being the only person waiting for four tables that night. Value is very reasonable.

The ambiance is so Thai! I would recommend this place to my friends.

A Wonderful Place!

I have dined at Sookjai 5 times now, and would recommend this Thai restaurant in many aspects.
PROS: Excellent food, large portions, great service, consistant qualtiy and service, nice atmosphere. Great value for your money.
CONS: The tables/chairs could be a little more comfy/roomy. The bathrooms are not very nice.
All in all, it is a great restaurant and I bring my family here every time they come to town!

Excellent Thai

I really enjoy going to Sookjai. The food is consistently god and flavourful. Dishes are large, and always come out fresh and hot. I normally order the chicken cashew dish and a beef peanut dish because they go really well together. They also have some good local beer on tap, and they seem to keep their keg lines really clean. This is likely my favourite Thai place in Victoria.

i have eaten and almost every thai place on the island and sookjai is by far the best

it may not be the absolute cheapest but as for flavor it is amazing
personally i would suggest the red curry with chicken and a coconut rice

its not a big problem but the place is more on the cramped side which could be a problem for some and the booths arent the most comfortable

Along with Baan Thai, Sookjai is my favorite Thai resteraunt in Victoria. I recommend anything and everything I have their! Especially the Gang Gai and deep fried banana! For a little treat the Thai Iced Tea is extremely good! Enjoy this small friendly place at lunch during the week for a great priced, delicious lunch combo.

This is one of our favourite Thai spots in Victoria. Usually it is best for lunch. The service staff is pleasant and efficient. It is remarkable how they can create such good food in such a small kitchen area. The specials are usually best.
