FOOD. Fresh, creative, outstanding, melt in your mouth, loved, consistant and in abundance! By far the best sushi in Victoria.
OUR FAVOURITES: Baked Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll, Spicy Scallop Roll, Califry Roll.
SERVICE. Excellent, friendly, prompt. Some of the baked infusion rolls take time to cook, so be patient, it is well worth it.
VALUE. I always leave feeling like they gave me way more than I gave them. Prices are well below the average sushi restaurant in Victoria.
ABMIANCE. Roomy sunken booths, sushi bar, nice polished wood furnature. The bathroom could use a makeover though.
Sockeye has something for everyone

Discovered this gem through a korean friend of mine, and have been going there ever since. This is *the* place to go for sushi that doesn't empty your wallet but is still very tasty.

Their menu is extensive and features many classic items with a twist. Such as their deep fried california roll which is a personal favourite of mine.
I've been going to sockeye for 3 years now and they have never failed to satisfy.
The prices are definitely lower than most sushi restaurants though not as low as some take out sushi. But the quality and price are just right for a student like myself.
The service is nothing short of spectacular. We were well taken care of each time we attended.
In the later evening when there are fewer customers the food arrives very quickly, but even when the restaurant was packed we were never kept waiting too long.
All in all it is my favourite place for sushi in Victoria.

The interior of the restaurant is very cute so when we entered we were pleasantly surprised... I will say that the menu which was written was very vague. I ordered a few things I thought I would recognize and was totally confused when they came...

Chicken yakitori was one stick of sliced chicken and a few mixed vegetables ...the picture showed the classic 3 sticks with plump chicken and green onion...it was okay, but i was confused because it was so obviously not what i had thought i was getting...

Assorted tempura was mostly all huge slices of yam! huuuggeee yam!! I could only eat half of 1 of the yam slices, they were way too big and oily...that was unfortunate because it was a waste of a lot of yams which we didnt eat...

Long story short..the staff was very nice but the menu was very misleading and the food was confusing.
