Second Slice Pizza serves quality pizza in a quick and casual atmosphere.
This is just a fast food hole-in-the-wall on Douglas Street, but I went there Friday afternoon for a Hawaiian slice and a pop. Most of the pizza I've had out west has been pretty bad. I'm not saying that Second Slice is gourmet pizza - I ate plenty of that in Toronto - but I've found the pizza pickings pretty slim on the west coast. Nice doughy crust rather than the cardboard crust I'm used to getting. I kind of regret not having two slices, as they'd just pulled a fresh pepperoni pizza out of the oven. I don't even really care for pepperoni pizza, but the Hawaiian slice was so good I'm sure the pepperoni would have been good, too. I think I paid $2.50 including tax for a slice and a fill-your-own pop. They had ice, too. Music wasn't too loud. Two slices and a pop was about $4.50, I think.
This is some of the best pizza I have ever eaten at the best price! The variety's and toppings are great and service is relatively quick and friendly. The only problem is that it's right down on Douglas and even if you go during daylight, there is bound to be someone come right in to the restaurant to ask you to share your food. You are generally accosted again outside when leaving. Luckily they offer delivery so we have been getting our fill of their yummy pizza without having to go there!
