SeaGrille Dinning Room is located in the Brentwood Bay Lodge. Expect to find contemporary west coast cuisine and understated elegance.
We have stayed three times at the Brentwood Bay Lodge and each time have eaten at the SeaGrille in the hotel, but this is the first review I have done. My dining companion and I each decided to order the 5 course tasting menu, which was well priced at $55 each. We each chose the flight of wine, one wine with each course, again an excellent value of $30 each. First course was a walnut, pear and blue cheese salad with sherry vinaigrette which was more of a regular first course size rather than tasting menu size. It was good, but perhaps a bit too salty but was accompanied by a nice rosé. Next course was a roasted pumpkin soup with pumpkin pie spices and white truffle oil. Excellent. Following this was a large piece of halibut on a wonderful bed of lentils and chanterelle mushrooms, with red and yellow beets and other root vegetables all washed down with a wonderful Chardonnay. Superb. This was followed by beef tenderloin on a bed of mashed potatoes and mushroom ragout with asparagus and broccoli accompanied by an amazing Road 13 Cabernet Sauvignon, Again the portions were so huge it was difficult to finish. Dessert was maple bread pudding for my companion and 4 huge scoops of ice cream with white and dark chocolate for me. Absolutely wonderful, but too much to eat, accompanied by an Elephant Island Framboise. I don't know if the tasting menu always has so much food, but if it does, the value for money, quality and amount of food, is exceptional.
