Since 1989, Rebar has been serving up fresh, funky and healthy food. Located in Victoria’s historic Bastion Square, Rebar is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
How do such shitty places become so popular? Although we were able to attract a hostess' attention to be seated, it took nearly 15 minutes for anyone to come and take a drink order. I will say that our food was delivered in a reasonable time-frame, but the portions were outrageously small in regard to the cost. I would not return to Rebar anytime soon.
why do people keep calling this a vegetarian restaurant? last time i checked fish had eyes.
and the service is so bad that i kick myself for returning each time. i will try to redirect the next time a friend wants to go there.
the food is okay, but expensive for what it is.
cute decor just aint enough.
I know it is vegetarian, I have taken various skeptical friends that are in love with meat and they just fall in love. The food here is tasty, and delicious. They know how to flavour and create meals that do not rely on frying or animal fat. It is healthy and unless you have really restrictive food allergies, there is something for everyone. I can go out to eat and feel healthy about it.
Their desserts. All their desserts are made by their sister bakery Cascadia Bakery on Govt by Chinatown. They have a dessert display case, not a menu, because it is changing and you get to see what you are getting. Their chocolate cake is wonderful. I have tried almost every dessert and even their desserts are flavourful, rich, and delicious. If you want an amazing tasting meal and super friend staff, go to Rebar. Once you start, it is hard to stop.
Best part, they restructured their menu so it keeps changing every few weeks so even frequent dinners like me are not bored.
