It's been a year since I wrote my previous review of Radar's. Since then, there's been a change of ownership which, for the most part, has resulted in a better place overall. The food quality has improved. The service is significantly, and the staff are all much friendlier than in years past. Unfortunately, there's a lot less selection of baked goods (especially in the morning), and the price of a small coffee is now $2.13, which, in my opinion, is ridiculous. Overall, though, for employees in the Gateway Park office complex, this remains the (only) go-to place without having to walk a few blocks.

The Roost is a fantastic bakery and very average place to have breakfast. The food is average and they do nothing at all to stand out. Here are 3 things that could have drastically improved my experience.
#1 My sausage and eggs was tiny. 2 sausage, about 1 cup of hasbrowns, 2 scrambled eggs and 1...that's right...1 piece of toast. For such a great bakery to only give one piece of toast is criminal. Nothing on my plate was bad but nothing was good either.
#2 My breakfast was $7.95!! This is fine if you are the Blue Fox and you are wowing your guests (Actually the same thing at the Fox is $6.95) but this is no Blue Fox. I would be embarrassed to charge so much for so little.
#3 When I went to get a refill on my coffee I was informed that "The first refill is on the house". So let me get this straight, your going to overcharge me for an average breakfast, overcharge me for my coffee, (coffee was fine by the way) which I have to refill my self and then only let me have 2?? Embarrassing

Bottom line - great bakery...mediocre breakfast.
