Last night myself and three others went for dinner at Pig. Two of my friends had never been been there before and I recommened the chicken to them. We all had chicken for dinner and two of us noticed that the chicken was cold inside, then one took another bite and ended up with a mouthful of raw chicken. Another diner that was with us looked at their chicken and saw that it wasn't fully cooked as well. One piece was completely red/pink and translucent inside and the other wasn't fully cooked but was not as bad as the other piece. We spoke to one of the employees and just said that two pieces that we were given weren't fully cooked. She said, without ever looking at the chicken that it was actually cooked and not raw and that the chicken is brined and then cooked so that means it is cooked twice. She reluctantly offered two new pieces which we accepted. When she came back she told us that we should order the chicken "well done" next time and that it would be very dark and black on the outside and dry on the inside. I wasn't aware that you had to state when you order there that you want your chicken cooked, I have been to Pig in Colwood 5 times before and am a regular customer at the View St location and have never had a problem. The chicken being raw wasn't a big deal, a simple "I'm sorry" and a replacement would have been fine but the condescending attitude was not appreciated. I hope she was just having a bad day and that the service hasn't gotten that bad.
