My wife and I just moved into this neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. What a mistake that turned out to be. Here's what happened.
We called in a pick up order at dinner time, and this is where the fun began.
They'd never heard of agedashi tofu or gomae. They didn't know what a bento box or bento combo was. This should have been enough warning for us to say no thanks and do something else, but we persisted. We ordered a cali roll, a spicy scallop roll, chicken teriaki, veggie tempura, and a seaweed salad.
After we got home, we realized they'd failed to put the salad in the bag. The tempura was burnt. The teriaki was chicken and mushrooms in a thick sweet sauce over sticky white rice. The california roll was tiny and mis-shapen. The rice on the rolls was not good. The scallop roll was disgusting and fishy, to the point where we couldn't eat it.
Even if the food had been good, the price would have been a bit on the high side, although I do find that most prices on the island are a bit higher than the lower mainland.
Not going back.
