A popular little Chinese restaurant in a strip mall on Shelburne
I don't know about you, but I am always a bit intimidated by chopsticks - yet I like to see them in a Chinese restaurant. This restaurant claims to have been in existence since 1976 and seems popular with the Chinese community as it was busy the evening we were there.
Very extensive menu with all the classics plus Szechuan dinners, and Hong Kong Style plates. The food was reasonably priced and good when it came. The only complaint was that the 4-5 plates we ordered came at very different times so it was a bit like the Dim Sum cart came by and you got a plate full of one item and then had to wait for the next item to show up. The advantage of this was that all food was piping hot and fresh when it arrived, but I rather like the food to come all at once.
The restaurant is not very large and service was generally attentive but they had difficulty fulfilling a minor request and we had to ask twice. Maybe because they were busy...?
The meal was good and prices reasonable, so the overall rating is probably a bit on the lower side than I mean it to be as it was an enjoyable meal, even though I did not actually use the chopsticks.
