India Bistro offers a menu of North Indian cuisine.
It's been a while since i've come here but the other day when my boyfriend and I were in downtown, we decided to revisit it. We hadn't been here for a while because the service was a fail last time but we thought it was time to give it another shot. The food was always good so we decided to go one more time, just to try.
We went at 6 pm so it was jam packed when we entered and had to wait for a seat. It is not your typical Indian restaurant but still happens to be one of the best places for Indian food in Victoria. We reconfirmed it! The service this time was good, no rude servers and food was not mixed up. It did come kinda late thou, but it was a busy nite. Loved the onion bhajia & fish masala. WILL BE BACK GUYS!
I was a little skeptical about trying yet another new Indian Restaurant. That with India Curry House closing, and there being so many others popping up or changing hand recently. But I love Curry so decided to try it anyway. For me, I am not normally big on trying new food items, but after a few glasses of wine I decided to get brave. The Papdi Chaat was my starter and it was excellent! Johnny had the Curry Mussels and is still raving over them. For Lunch I had the Chicken Biryani and he had the Chicken Curry. Both outstanding! If you like what is probably the most authentic East Indian Food in Victoria, try this place out!
We ordered from the India Bistro for an office party and oh boy were we happy. We called and spoke with the new manager Kapil and he was very very helpful in allowing us a custom order for our Christmas Office Party. I cannot believe how fast, friendly and cost effective this catering was. All the food was really good and Kapil even followed up with us to make sure everything was as ordered. All 12 of us were so happy with the India Bistro that we will be doing this again for our next staff party!!!!!
I am normal not a fan of spicy food at all. I was convinced by my wife to try this place and I have to say I was very impressed. I had the Mixed Grill - lots of different chicken, lamb and some fish, and my wife had some samosas, pakoras and a salad. Normally I cannot eat as much as I was given, but it was so good I ended up finishing my plate. The service was spot on, the place was very clean and the presentation was perfect. This is a very very good place to eat. I will be back.
If i were to review all the Indian restaurant I've eaten at across Canada & America (100+), this would rate in the top 5
I started eating at Indian's when i was 15yrs old and have never stopped going back. The staff is really friendly and helpful, always checking if you need anything and they are very knowledge able about food. Even more impressive is the quality of their food. I was there last night and the INDIA BISTRO made it the perfect night for us just love it.......
The bottom line: India's offer fresh-tasting, bright food complimented by great service. This is my favorite restaurant in town.................
Thank you guys.............. love it
My brother took me to India Bistro for dinner and drinks and it was great! The Lamb Curry was the best I have ever eaten. They have a nicely done bar with a huge selection of drinks. The service was fast and friendly. The martini's were really good. I will go back for sure and will let all my friends know about it!
Cannot say enough about this place. GREAT food. I am glad I found it!!!! The staff was friendly, it was very clean and well kept, unlike some other East Indian Restaurants in Victoria. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the only time I had that dish that was comparable was years ago in Vancouver. Glad they came to Victoria! Two Thumbs Up!!!!
