Il Terrazzo serves up fine Italian dining in an old town courtyard setting. Northern Italian cuisine featuring wood-oven roasted meats and pizza, home-made pasta and fresh West Coast seafood.
This restaurant is adequate but keep in mind that it is overpriced. Service is not the greatest. The servers don't even say thank-you when you leave a generous tip. Service can be slow, staff not well trained. *WARNING* A normal table for 4 with one glass of wine each plus tip will cost you over $250 on average! The location is beside homeless people hangout.
The flavours didn't come together in any of the dishes. The blackberries did not go well on the halibut at all, they were a bit pretentious. The only thing good was my drink and my sister's cheesecake. (which I am guessing they didn't make themselves anyway) I would not recommend this place as I spent $50 plus tip on myself alone, and was not satisfied at all.
Have to agree, the bread and tapenade was delicious. But the rest of the food was a disappointment. Tomato soup was tasteless; Shrimp and Artichoke appetizer was mediocre at best; and the main courses (Salmon and Ravioli) were unremarkable. Good things: the extensive wine list, the ambiance, and the service.
We were excited to try this restaurant after reading all of the glowing reviews but definitely will not be returning.
This is definitely NOT a family style Italian restaurant. The menu here changes often and always offers wonderful, eclectic "grown up" cuisine. It is very Tuscan/Sicilian style with unique flavours and combinations to match the unique and absolutely beautiful decor and ambiance.
We eat here at least once every 2 weeks and I have never had a bad meal.
The service is second to none with friendly wait staff who are ever attentive and always happy to have a chat.
The free foccaccia bread with olive teppenade that you get before each meal is enough to keep us coming back for more.
They have the best caesar salad in all of Victoria and possibly North America from what I've tasted.
Try the roasted vegetable crepes, or the veal with pancetta and mushroom sauce...absolutely delicious!
Fresh tasting pastas with a variety of sauces are always favourites of ours too.
It's generally packed at lunch and dinner in the summer months so reserve ahead. You won't be sorry.
