Whenever I feel the need to eat lunch out, I usually stop by the Grindstone cafe and grab one of their delicious homemade soups, and the apple chicken panini (amazing!). Their sandwiches are filling and delicious with real ingredients and their soups are always well flavoured and unique. The prices and fair for what you are getting and the service is always freindly and quick.
This little cafe is a great place to grab a delicious sandwich. For $7, I got a mediterranean grilled chicken sandwich with feta, olice, tomatoes, etc., with a side of nacho chips (the multi-coloured chips that you can buy at Thrifty's). Free water. Nice tables with newspapers, and lots of bright light. The cashier (an Australian-accented gentleman) was very pleasant and enjoyable to interact with. A female employee, however, dropped off my sandwich at my table like the plate was infected, had no smile, and didn't bother acknowleding me or even saying "you're welcome" when I thanked her. After doing that, she just stood behind the counter with a big frown on her face. Seriously, I'm paying your wages, so I expect you to be moderately police. Anyway, a fantastic place for a quick bite.
