Fiamo Italian Kitchen offers an unpretentious rustic Italian menu in an authentic Tuscan tradition, with French, Spanish, and Mediterranean elements, all prepared using fresh regional ingredients.
We love the atmosphere in this place. The outside terrace is a bit noisy but thats because its on Yates Street. The service was a bit slow but efficient. We did enjoy the food a bit more than another competitive Italian restaurant just across the street and down the alley (wont mention any names). Fiamos seemed to be a bit more authentic. The food could use a bit of work to bring out that real Italian flavour but all in all it made for a nice meal and a nice evening with my significant other.
What a pleasant surprise to find a delicious, fairly priced Italian restaurant in Victoria. Now that I've found Fiamo I don't have to go back to Pag's.
The meatballs were moist, well seasoned and the sauce delicious, and $1 a meatball? Fantastic value. Antipasti platter was very good, great variety of cheese, meat, veg and fruit. The duck pasta was pretty good, didn't knock my socks off but I really look forward to going back and trying something else. Our waitress was really lovely, informative, attentive and genuinely cheerful.
