Denny's serves a menu of diner classics including all day breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches and more.
My wife & I and two-year old daughter went to this Denny's on June 28, 2008. We just got into Victoria and only went there because we were starving after a long trip from up island.
Well, I don't have much good to say about it. Service was average at best, and the food was greasy and bland. But what really bothered us was the dirtiness of this joint; there was spilled food all over the floor that was ignored by the staff. The washrooms were also dirty. That will be the last time I ever go to a Denny's!
Denny's used to be a great place to go for a decent cheap meal. You can still get a decent meal at Denny's, especially the breakfasts, but the prices have skyrocketed!!! Generally you have to wait at the crowded front door for at least 20 minutes, and several times we have been ignored after we've been seated too. One time a friend complained to a manager after we'd been sitting there for 20 mins with no service and he apologized and sent someone to us from the back, who was then our personal waiter for the entire meal and was super! Several times we have also had to wait up to an hour for our food as well, even when the restaurant is not all that busy. The do have decent desserts and is a good place to go in the evening for coffee and dessert at a decent price with no major waits.
While visiting Victoria, I ated at Denny's on 2 separate days. This 24-hours restaurant is conveniently located on a major street near a shopping mall. Secor was plain and simple but dark. Tables and floors appeared clean. During the first day, we used a promotion coupon offering 2 for 1 meals plus cost of drinks. The giant hamburger was delicious and generous. French fries were crisp and tender. Lemonade was cold and refreshing with refill free of charge. On the second day, I ordered the grandslam special for breakfast. Choice of eggs, sausages, hash brown, toasts, pancakes or oakmeal. As for service, waitresses are friendly and efficient. No lineup and food was served within 5-15 minutes. Overall, I like the menu, price, staff and place.
