Christie's is an Old English Style Pub offering over two dozen beers on tap as well as a varied menu featuring tasty pub fare for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
I really enjoy the layout of this place. It has an old English pub feel, with low ceilings, many cozy snugs, and a wooden decor. It's only competition that way was Vancouver's Jolly Taxpayer (now sadly destroyed) and Nanaimo's Crow and Gate (the very best of the genre I've seen in BC). The food at Christie's is pretty basic pub fair, plenty of variety though not outstanding, and the service is solid - given that I've never been in there when it wasn't crowded to the rafters.
I have been to this fine establishment a number of times and have always had a great experience. They have a lovely patio that is a delight in summer and can be covered up for those less wholesome days.
The food is well priced, served properly and quickly and has always tasted very good. I once had Eggs Benedict as a late Sunday breakfast and found they were my favourite in the city. The rest of he food is normal pub type fare and they have enough choice that you should find no problem locating something you like. Strangely, I have never eaten inside as it seems somewhat dark compared to the lovely patio.
This is one of my favourites and I expect to go again shortly.
