Sushi, Japanese noodles and tempura.
Located in a strip mall, Chikara is a small family run Japanese restaurant that has decent sushi and good service. The booths are a little uncomfortable and small for my liking, so its a better to sit at table or at the sushi bar.
I have tried most of the sushi places in Victoria and this is hands down the best. They have creative maki rolls that are very flavourful and well thought out, taste, texture, presentation, uniqueness, it's all there. Try the kamakazi roll for a real treat, like a spicy tuna roll but not so run of the mill. The booths are slightly akward to get in and out of but they are cozy once you sit down and we prefer them to the main dining area which can be busy around lunch, espcially on Fridays! This place really is a gem, and is worth going a little out of the way for.
