Charles Dickens Pub is a little slice of England located in the Victoria Airport Travelodge. Serving up a wide range of English pub classics and West Coast dishes in a cozy, friendly environment.
We were in Sidney in August 2007 and had dinner at Charles Dickens Pub. Old English decor with dart boards, fireplace and a tiny outside patio (no view). It's a pub and has pub type food (burgers, bangers and mash, fish and chips, salads, soups etc). The burgers which we ordered came piping hot and were delicious. Our server was friendly and made us feel welcome. We would definitely go back.
Went here after finally getting in from the mainland on the ferry trip from hell. We were craving burgers, but Woody's (across the street in Sidney) was closed, so we went here instead. It was quite nice! The beer is good, the ambiance is cozy and, as a Brit lit scholar, I loved the Dickens quotes on the walls. I had a killer burger and great fries, and my husband had a solid steak sandwich. The location may seem odd, but it's worth a pop in for some yummy pub food and fun, attentive service.
