Chandlers has been a Victoria institution since 1862. They offer the freshest possible seafood and fish, wild and local when possible. They offer a huge menu of seafood dishes which range from lobster to seafood pasta.
I like fresh food. I like perfectly spiced food. I hate over cooked food. and most of all i hate low graded crap. Chandlers gave me the best and that's what i wanted. I Find that far to often places use gimmicks in order to sell a lower grade of fish, things like heavy sauces or a hunk of cedar plank not even used while cooking. Chandlers gives you food. It isn't all show it's all food. Mind you it was all still arranged perfectly. Services was knowledgeable and prompt but also chill and unpretentious.
I will be back
Good job Guys
My mother and I have had the pleasure of dining at Chandler's several times over the last 3 years. Every experience has been a pleasant one.
The food is wonderful, we are especially fond of the "feast" choices on the menu, we have always been thrilled and left the restaurant stuffed.
The servers are wonderful, even going so far as to entertain my daughter so we could finish our lunch at our leisure. I can't say enough good things about how great Chandler's is, and if you have any doubts about the quality of the food, visit thier lobby and have a gander at the many awards they've won.
I went to Chandlers once which was more than enough for me. The food is extremely overpriced.
If you're looking to impress someone with no tastebuds but deep pockets take them to Chandlers and go at er. I don't mind paying a premium for good food service and atmosphere, in my opinion Chandlers provides none of the above. I would be ashamed if this is the only seafood experience a tourist were to experience in their visit to BC, bad representation.
Chandlers Seafood, lovely building, somewhat nice inside, and a competent polite server - that's when the fun ended.
The food was so-so but the price was outrageous. I ordered a small 8 oz steak and paid more than $22 for it.
Stear clear of this place, especially you tourists, who may get sucked into the lovely exterior of this historic downtown building...there are so many better places to go where the price is far more reasonable.
I was looking for a great seafood experience when my son and his lady came to town. Unfortunately, I chose Chandlers Seafood. We all ate meodocure meals with exorbatant pricetags. Don't be fooled by the rich look and former elegance that is the facade of Chandlers. Stay away from this rip-off resturant. Victoria has many excellant resturants but this is NOT one of them.
