The Blackfish Cafe is an intimate, relaxed floating restaurant located in Victoria's Inner Harbour. Offering a varied menu of dishes made with the freshest possible ingredients and the best view in town.
To me, the Blackfish Cafe is all about the view. The food is normally "solid" or better but I go for the view. When I'm taking visitors on a tour of Victoria this is one of the places that I prefer to take them for lunch. If you're lucky enough to eat outside then you're right on the water and can watch the float planes taxi in and out (and "yes", that does make some noise but it's worth it). The wait staff works hard to get to everyone and seem pretty good at it. One of the other great things about this place is that while it is a great place to take tourist, most tourist don't know about it so it's usually not too hard to get a table, unless there's a festival in the inner harbour. If you end up eating inside, then focus on the view and forget about the interior, which is pretty forgettable.
The food is good, the service is ok, the prices are very fair, but the location is fantastic. Although not so impressive outside of the summer...as soon as tourist season hits, this floating restaurant attached to the sea plane terminal has a great view of the inner harbour and makes awesome fish and chips. There isn't much seating and it's pretty popular so if youre planning on catching a flight out, make sure you arrive with plenty of time to be seated and enjoy your meal before boarding time.
