215 seats with Fresh Seafood, Italian and a good variety of other meals.
Located at the waterfront end of Beacon Ave. with parking behind (and to the south) of the restaurant. The outdoor patio has superb views over the water whereas indoors - most seats can see the water.
We were sadly disappointed with the unprofessional noon-hour service and pitiful food on May 6, 2009 and Beacon Landing in Sidney, B.C..
The frosty host made us feel like he was irritated that we had arrived.
My vegetarian panini was cold and my husband’s hamburger was raw. Our waitress didn’t do anything to amend the matter.
We waited a half hour to pay the bill.
I tried this restaurant at lunch on a Sunday - it was quiet and but the staff were very well dressed in dark clothing that lent an air of sophistication to this very nice restaurant. It is beautifully located right by the waterfront in Sydney.
We were sat quickly although we had managed to come in what seems to be the back door (on Beacon Avenue). The front door is on the other side by the car park, so that is where the hostess station is. Prices for lunch were on the high side of reasonable, so it will be interesting to see if they can maintain their price point. The food that we ordered (Wok Chicken, chowder and Yam Fries) came quickly and tasted very good. The portions were very generous and it was piping hot and tasted very good. Passing the kitchen - it was nice to see that it looked like it might even pass a militarty inspection. Having had food poisoning twice - I am picky this way. Service was generally attentive without being intrusive so I think this is a restaurant to keep my eye on.
The only negatives were that the waitress did not ask if we wanted refills of drinks and for some reason the 20 people in the restaurant had managed to exhaust their supply of teaspoons - so the waitress could only suggest I use my knife to stir my coffee. Quick - spend $10 and buy some more spoons as this should not be allowed to happen.
I'd go again as this newly opened/refurbished restaurant has a lot going for it.
