Marketplace International Buffet, The9580 Jane Street, Vaughan
nice selection

Submitted Friday, August 7, 2015 - 11:39am [Dine in]

So, my family of 4 and I decided to try The Marketplace for the first time. My review on the food and the service isn't that great but maybe it's better earlier during the day. We had dinner at 8 pm and the place was empty which was fine. We picked up our cutlery from a little basket and the cash register where you paid for your meal before you ate. $21.99 for adults which is a good price as it included drinks and an all you can eat buffet :) There were napkin dispensers on each table. Food consisted of makings for tacos..very yummy. Pasta sitting out too long, corn in the warming tray was shrivled, pizza looked ok but I didn't have any. Meatballs were delicious but not very hot, there were buns which I'm assuming were for hotdogs and hamburgers but when I asked a guy behind the counter if he had any he asked the group of 5 others it there were any in the "warming tray". This group was all too busy talking that they didn't hear him so the guy had to ask again. I didn't wait for a reply and told them that it was ok and went to eat what I had. There was ice cream for dessert which my daughter enjoyed and little snack sized brownies as well as some peach cobbler that was not hot and kinda gummy from sitting out for I'm assuming the day? Like I said the selection was a nice change from your typical buffet but the quality and the service was lacking .

Not impressed at all...
By W G of Toronto (1 Review)

I went to the Cookie Crumble Cafe the other day with my 2 kids and I was not impressed at all. I ordered their breakfast with 3 eggs, toast and peameal bacon, and what I got was 3 eggs, toast, peameal bacon, and 2 tablespoons of oil on top! It was totally disgusting and inedible. Their croissants were so hard, my fake tooth popped out (I'm not even joking), their cookies were WAYYY too sweet, and their biscotti tasted stale. Would definitely not be back, nor would I recommend this place to anybody either. If I could give this place a zero star, I would! No wonder there were no customers there when we went....

Very Disappointing Experience!

My son and I were out in Kleinburg the other day visiting my parents, and we decided to try out the Cookie Crumble Cafe because we've seen it quite a few times before, but never been inside. First of all, it was REALLY REALLY cold in the there. My son and I both had to keep our coats on while we were eating, both our hands were frozen, not a very pleasant dining experience. The quiche I ordered was VERY OBVIOUS it was left over from the day before, and the croissant my son had was hard as a rock, probably from several days ago. The cappuccino I ordered was just lukewarm. The only thing they got right was my son's water... Whoopi! At least they got one thing right! Definitely not recommended and won't be back. Very disappointed.

Worst experience ever. I have Celiac disease, called ahead and was told it would be no problem to accommodate. Travelled to Vaughan with 3 friends and was turned away by the hostess because "it was too busy to accommodate for a dietary condition".

I wrote a review on their website on January 19th and did not even get an apology. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but without a reply that's hard.

I was here on Thursday and I tried to like this place but I just can't. Too much going on. It doesnt know if its a bar or a lounge. Figure it out. Much like the reviewer above me, I had a similar experience. Free drinks to friends, zero service, too expensive of a menu and drinks. The music was ok... And dont even get me started on the kids that hang out there. The place tries too hard and the owners have no idea what they are doing. There are much better restaurants around the area, such as T2, now thats a great lounge to hang out at. The service is better and the ambiance is much nicer. 2 thumbs down for Kloud 9!

I went to this location as I heard it was new and I wanted to try something new with my friends. So this location was recommended to me. I went with a few friends, the place looked nice enough so we decided to stay. About 20-25 minutes into my stay I was still not served, no food or drinks or a hookah was offered to me but they took my cover charge fairly quickly. The place wasn't overly busy. So I went to the bar instead to order drinks. I waited another 5-10 minutes until I was served. The barkeep was busy talking to his friends and I noticed he gave them free drinks on the house. It wasn't until they left was I served. I told the barkeep and he said he was sorry and he'd send a server over. She came over not to long after and took our orders. I waited another 30 minutes to receive my order. When the food came, it looked like a sloppy mess. It wasn't put together properly and it didn''t taste that well either. My friends were unimpressed as well. Now I am not one to stir up trouble, but this was out of control. A few minutes later, a group of rowdy guys came in and by that time my friends and I had enough and decided to leave. We paid our overpriced bill and went else where. It looks to me that the owners only pay attention to their friends and neglect their walk in customers. I will not be going there again and I will not be recommending it to other people. 2 thumbs down.

Stanley Cup party with Mike Futa of the Kings and Wendel!
Submitted Thursday, July 3, 2014 - 12:21pm [Dine in]

I went in to see my friend Mike Futa who's the Co-Director of Amateur Scouting for the LA Kings! Wendel was there and it was a packed house. It was a private party but we had a huuuuuuuggggeeee group of people. The food was unreal, i got a Wendel Burger ;) the portions are great and you won't leave hungry! The staff was very quick and pleasant! I'll be back.

On Tuesday, July 1st, the Stanley Cup was the life of the party in Vaughan, with over 600 people at Musiqhaus, which is a restobar, lounge and live music venue, along with Wendel Clark’s Classic Grill and Sports Lounge (located in the same building).Yes Wendel Clark was in attendance but the Stanley Cup was not Musiqhaus or Wendel Clark’s Bar for Wendel. Co-Director of Amateur Scouting for the LA Kings, Michael Futa had his day with the Cup and he decided to bring 600 of his closest friends, family and some NHLers with him. Musiqhaus was electric and so was Wendel Clark’s Bar, as both facilities were jammed packed with smiles, as people re-united for the first time in a long time. Mr. Futa did not miss a beat as almost everyone in attendance had their photo taken with the Stanley Cup.

I was by myself for a nice treat to myself and ordered the eggs florentine and a coffee. The food when served was not hot. Spinach was cold and home fries not well done how I asked to be done for my plate. On top of that the server that I had did not approach me once to ask how my food was and no refill on my coffee. I watched her talk to other customers and completely ignore me until I went up to pay and she called out to the employee taking my money what my order was. It came out to $14.10 they got $15 and didn't even deserve that much.

I am a previous employee of this sorry excuse for a restaurant and before you waste your time and money dining here read this.Every single negative comment about this restaurant is 100 percent accurate and true. From day one I knew this was not your average fine dining kitchen work place as the head chef Amato allowed me to smoke ciggaretts directly in the back where food was being cooked and prepared. Every thing is PRE MADE DAYS BEFORE EVENT,especially if you book LARGE PARTYS which is why they force everyone to order the same thing, and when you arrive everything is heated up.Partys will never have a choice of ordering off tbe menue. The vodka gets poured out and filled with half water to save money. Amato the chef does cocaine ( free base in the washroom)all day while working so if he comes out to your table its because hes high off his tree top and is making sure he didnt give you raw food(its happened before) Frank and Wayne the owners are both nice men but they are letting a drug addict washed up chef ruin there buisness. And if you dont believe me, go there and see with your for yourself

My husband and I each got a meal here while visiting Vaughn Mills mall. The service was fast, the servers were nice, I'm kicking myself because I should have went next door for the pizza. The chicken balls were hard, so hard we couldn't sit through them. There was a lot of rice, but the rice and noodles had little to no taste. Poor food. Should have brought it back.

The service was horrible, as soon as we mentioned we were gifted a coupon the waitress ceased attending to our table.
Our water was refilled once (and only half a glass), our food was over sauced, clunky and reminded me of a cheap wedding banquet hall.

To add insult to injury, following an evening of horrendous service and mediocre food, the waitress added a $12 tip to the bill total after realizing she had to make 'an adjustment' to the original bill.

Save your money and go somewhere where customer service and quality matters more than long drapes.

It is near the end of 2013 and families and friends at work get together and have a year end party. Dae Bak is well known to Koreans and Chinese communities for catering great food at such affordable prices. They are specialized in custom menu for different functions and different age brackets. Starts from as low as $15.00 to $30.00 per person, packed and delivered to your door step. There is minimum order of 15 persons, however, you will get at least 20% over the quantity you order. The variations are quite good from vegetable soup to grilled three bone beef brisket and many more.

The Worst Croissant and service experience from this franchise
By bumblingbee of Toronto (1 Review)
Submitted Monday, March 25, 2013 - 6:03am [Take-out]

The first time I tried their croissants it was horribly bad possibly from day before, worse then something from any supermarket but at a premium price. I was a little surprised since the same product at Yorkdale or RBC Plaza franchise locations that I have tried are decent. Since the first time was at the end of the day, I thought that I'd give them a second chance and try their croissants again but this time in the morning when it will be the best it will possibly be. To my disappointment, the croissants were only nominally better then the last time. Although not stale this time, the Croissant was soft and bready and not even close to the kind of hard carmelized, flaky layered texture and aromatic with full buttery scent you would expect from a premium priced croissant. My suspicion is that this establishment is likely cutting corners, cheaping out on ingredients, like quality butter and creating a subpar product not even comparable to their other franchise locations. However, if you are looking for quality croissants and pastries, I would recommend going to a real French bakery. Service was also very poor, evident in the micro-management of simple retail transactions. Overall, a FAIL and after giving them a second chance will Never return again.

They treat their customers very poorly, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to any family or friend. I saw the waiter, manager, and owner treat people like garbage in their restaurant and lost my own appetite. Also, their food quality is not great at all - your better option is the go to Grazie in the area!

Great little cake store near Vaughan Mills

Submitted Saturday, November 3, 2012 - 8:58am [Take-out]

I was passing by Vaughan Mills to shop for my wedding invitations and stopped by a near by nail salon to get my nails done. I was stopped by these gorgeous cakes that were displayed at their store front. I walked in and saw all these amazing fondant cakes and decor.

I was told they only offer specialty desserts such as cupcakes, french macarons, and cookies on the weekends and how the flavours will change every week. I thought that was neat and we would be updated on the flavours on their Facebook page each week.

I tried their Red Velvet and Chocolate & Hazelnuts. It was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The cakes were moist and flavorful. I loved their Chocolate & Hazelnuts, no wonder it's their most popular flavour.

What really impressed me was their customer service and customize cake prices. It was very affordable and the staff there are so nice and patient. The staff sat down with me and described in full details of what the design would be like and they also helped me with my budget. They made sure the cake is everything I want and at the price I wanted. They were very sweet young ladies to talk to. They really paid attention to what I wanted and how I wanted it- it was all about me and it felt great!

It was an amazing experience and I am so happy that I found my wedding cake! It's a three tiered too! They are currently having a 20% off promotion on all cake orders!!
Couldn't be happier with the result and the service.

I recommend for everyone to check them out!!
