Yopo Cafe in Yaletown offers a varied menu of Chinese cuisine for eat in, take out and evening delivery within Yaletown.
I've been here a few times now over the past few years and thought I'd submit my two cents after a recent meal.
Food: Not terribly impressive. I had the BBQ pork and wonton noodles the last time I was here. The broth was water, the BBQ overcooked, and the wonton a bit bland. The food is probably suitable for those who aren't familiar with what "real" Chinese food can taste like.
Service: Fast, friendly service.
Value: Reasonably cheap food, but for those prices, you can go elsewhere and get better quality and better tasting food food.
Ambiance: Tiny, clean little joint in Yaletown.
At least three times a month i order from Yopo and they have never let me down. I usually never order the same thing twice and i tried almost every type of order on their menu. The service is great and fast and the food is delicious. I really recommend the fried rice with seafood (or shrimp) and the sweet and sour pork. The chinese vegetables are also really good and I will be back for more for a long time to come.
We've been living in Yaletown for the last 5 years, and finally checked this place out for take out! We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and equally impressed by the value (very good portions for price in downtown location). Great place for authnetic Canontese cuisine! Ever since then, we've ordered numerous time, with same consistency as the first time.
Recommend the Beef Fried Rice, Onion pancake, spicy wonton appy and Chinese style milk tea!
Great place to visit, if you dont want to drive to Richmond for good Cantonese food! This place is better for take-out (versus eat-in, as its a bit small), and we would recommend calling ahead for very speedy pick-up!
Note: Closed Sundays.
I saw Yopo last week, and when I returned to the area, I thought I would check it out.
Its not a large place, I think they do alot of take out and you can eat in but seating is limited. I like it, clean, cozy, friendly service, and I ordered Chicken in black bean sauce with rice. My food arrived quickly, super hot, fresh and lots of chicken, this was great meal on a rainy day. If I had more time, i would have explored the menu but It will have to wait for my next visit.
I like their food, it cost under $8.00 before tip and will be back.
