Yagger's is a downtown hotspot serving up food and plenty o' Jaggermeister!
I finally made it to Yagger's this year for dine-out - I really wanted to last year, but didn't get the chance to. I ordered off the dineout menu, my boyfriend decided to do his own thing and ordered off the regular menu. We both had a great meal.
My dinner: Jagermeister wings, chicken schnitzel with mashed potato spring roll, and the dessert. Chicken wings were super tasty and came in a healthy size appie portion. I was hoping that the chicken schnitzel would be bigger as the portion was kinda small, even for me. But the mash potato spring roll was neat and to-die-for! The house-made brownie was too sweet and sticky for my liking. It was more of a bar, than a brownie. But the warmness teamed up with the cold ice cream worked well.
His dinner: Seattle-style fries and a chicken sandwich. He seemed to enjoy his sandwich, but the highlight was definitely the fritz! I couldn't keep myself away from them!! Garlicky-glory!! It was a huge portion and a great value!
Service was good - server made some fantastic drink suggesions. I also really liked the ambiance. Very cool and casual and very fitting to what Yagger's is all about. I especially liked the Jagermeister-bottle bar - very cool.
I love this place! Not your typical 'pub' food either. A very nice surprise! Everything on the menu is super tasty and reasonably priced although they have scaled down on their portions a little bit but its still reasonable.
Looking to try something new and just want to chill? Check this place out!
We were in the area so we stopped in for dinner on Saturday night and was expecting the typical pub fair but was pleasantly surprised. The food was great! I had the pistachio incrusted halibut and my friend has the blue cheese mack and cheese. So good! It's Monday and I'm still thinking about it!
Gotta love the neighborhood pubs! If your in the neighborhood, it's a great place to stop by. Great staff, good comfort food and beers. Great place to have some burgers and fries. Oh and it's a great place to catch a PPV. It's not really a type of place i would drive across the city for though.
Their menu states a pint of beer of various prices. Prices are fine, except they serve sleeves of beer, not pints. I called B.S. and sent them an email stating that they should either change their menu or change their glasses. No answer returned. If I were you, I'd skip them all together and go elsewhere.
We checked out Yaggers on a quiet wednesday night and weren't sure about the place because the neighbourhood is just outside iffy, with the occasional homeless person walking by. But the drinks were awesome (if a bit pricey) and the food was totally solid. I had a grilled veggie sandwich with fries and hubby had fish and chips and everything was nicely presented and tasty. They had a game on so they had a few tables there to watch the game (I think they style themselves as a sports bar). Bottom line, it's a pub atmosphere with food superior to most pubs.
