Recent menu change was for the worse in every way

There has been a massive downgrade in the menu at this place.
For a few years, they had a relatively limited menu, with no combo platters, but you could at least order things like fried oysters as a side. Then, they expanded the menu, and added all the classics, like scallops, prawns, or oysters & chips, as well as combo platters of the above.
Then, a few months ago the menu underwent a drastic contraction, making it even more limited than the old one which the expanded one replaced, which has really had a major negative impact on my going here, a place I used to really look forward to eating at.
Almost all the seafood w/ chips meals other than regular fish have been eliminated (no more prawns, oysters, or scallops & chips meals) and burgers have been given the prime space at the centre of the menu, presumably for the yahoos who go there to use the place as a sports bar (and who are such food cowards that they won't stray outside of burgers even when they're in a blasted fish place).
One of the two chowders they used to offer has also been eliminated.
Also, daily "specials" usually seem to be the same thing all the time, and the sandwich board outside advertises "curries" and "pies" which are no longer on the menu.

We used to frequent the Windjammer more often before they switched owners. They used to serve a mean halibut and salmon burger, perhaps the best around. For some reason when the new owner took over he decided to take the burgers off the menu because that wasn't how "England did it."
They lost our business and we haven't been there for a little while. Overall their menu is very tasty and the service there was consistent. They had a good selection of beer and the liquor was priced well.
If you want a solid meal and aren't too concerned about the ambience this is the place to go.

We enjoyed the $4 wheat ale draft special. $6 buys a small cod fish n' chips. Very tasty, and great for a casual pub dinner. They also have some British curries which we didn't try. The service was prompt and good and the atmosphere was cozy.
